“Catch Your Eye, Catch Your Mind” is not only Kep1er’s group slogan/greeting, but also a one line summary of how it was to attend a round table interview and meet the members in person. I was honored to conduct this interview with Kep1er. The members were super sweet and filled the venue with their vibrant energy, making our one-hour talk session an absolute pleasure. We chatted about the new leg of their journey as the only K-Pop group formed through a survival show to have ever extended their contract, new beginnings, and their musical spectrum. I also enjoyed being able to wave my South African flag as Kep1er’s new title track is inspired by the South African music genre gqom. We had a chat about the group’s take on the genre and whether they would consider traveling to any African countries to visit their fans there, too. Last month Kpopmap hosted a group of students from the United States who are interested in interning in South Korea through the CRCC Asia program. We held a seminar explaining the ins and outs of Kpopmap as a brand, what we’ve achieved thus far, our role in the ever-evolving landscape of the Hallyu wave, and how these aspiring interns can be part of our company. We tried our best to show them a glimpse of Korea by hosting the event in a traditional Korean hanok, as well.  It was an insightful time from both sides and we were honored to have been able to speak to these curious minds.
