LG Chem and 엑슨모빌 Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding for a multiyear offtake agreement for up to 100,000 metric tons of lithium carbonate. 🌍 [Recap] MDO-PE Film Live Demonstration Event in Germany 🎉 Last week, we had an incredible opportunity to showcase a live demonstration in partnership with Reifenhauser Group at their Technology Center in Troisdorf, Germany. Together, we successfully produced the world's thinnest and most economical 18-micrometer MDO-PE blown film using their state-of-the-art EVO 7-layer Blown Film Line with EVO Ultra Stretch technology. We are pleased to announce that LG Chem's eco-friendly #ABS, MRC380L5, has been applied to the exterior of Fujifilm Business Innovation (Fujifilm BI)'s multifunction printers for 2024. This material is a light-colored eco-friendly ABS that contains 50% mechanical Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) content. It is the first case of LG Chem's PCR ABS being specified by a Japanese OA brand, and it is significant that it has been recognized by Japanese customers who demand high-quality standards. The global OA device market is dominated by Japanese companies, accounting for approximately 88% of the market share. *Fuji Chimera Research Institute report 2024 Japanese companies tend to be conservative when it comes to material changes. Nevertheless, LG Chem has succeeded in achieving eco-friendly ABS specification-in through close customer collaboration for about 4 years. This has enabled customers to develop eco-friendly ABS of equivalent quality to the materials they were previously using, contributing to #Fujifilm BI's efforts to reduce Natural resource input ratio for eco-friendliness. In June of this year, key personnel from Fujifilm BI visited LG Chem's PCR ABS production site, as well as its partner and raw material suppliers. Following the visit, the Fujifilm BI purchasing manager gave a positive evaluation, "Through this visit, I have gained a deeper understanding of LG Chem's PCR management response. We look forward to collaborating with your company on various environmental initiatives, including PCR, in the future." This is expected to lead to close cooperation between LG Chem and Fujifilm BI. This case once again proves the excellent supply stability and reliable quality level of LG Chem's eco-friendly ABS. LG Chem will continue to strive for premiumization of customer products through agile customer response and differentiated eco-friendly ABS supply. #LGChem #WeConnectScience
