Established in 1997, Endeavor is a global NGO, with our headquarter based in New York, who believes that High-Impact entrepreneurs transform economies. Our goal is to create a multiplier effect by inspiring these entrepreneurs to dream bigger, supporting and investing in them to scale faster, and providing a platform to pay it forward. Endeavor is present in 40 markets with 500+ employees around the globe. We have in our network more than 2,100 entrepreneurs, including 50 unicorns. Our San-Francisco based fund Endeavor Catalyst, founded 10 years ago, manages more than $500M and is very active in co-investing in Endeavor Entrepreneurs alongside institutional investors around the globe. Given the above; at Endeavor Lebanon, we have decided to support, in addition to Lebanon-based scale-ups, Lebanese entrepreneurs from the diaspora by: - Giving them access to our support and network in the 40 markets we are present in (we can support access to market, talent, funding). - Giving them a platform to give-back and support the next generation of entrepreneurs (locally, to impact the Lebanese ecosystem as well as diaspora entrepreneurs to grow and strengthen the bonds between them)

Have you ever heard of the Endeavor magic? I remember when we first spoke to Dan Caruso, Endeavor Colorado chair, and his team. They reached out looking to invest in the region. It was a no brainer! I had to introduce them to toters delivery. We connected them to Tamim Khalfa to explore investment opportunities, and the rest is history. Dan became one of their investors, and it was wonderful to listen to Tamim yesterday sharing their story with Dan on The Bear Roars podcast. “The Endeavor team in Lebanon and the entire Endeavor network globally has brought a lot of support in many ways that we didn't think possible, it's opened doors, it's connected us to each other” said Tamim. This is what the Endeavor magic is all about! I loved watching this episode. It covers the very personal and candid story of Tamim building toters, the fastest growing company in Lebanon today. Tamim and Nael Halwani scaled a business in a very challenging environment. His story is an inspiration to all Lebanese, and reflects what many entrepreneurs, businesses and Lebanese people in general, went through over the past four years. On Sep 25, 2023, I spent the day in Beirut visiting with Tamim Khalfa, George Nazi, and others. Tamim is CEO of toters delivery, a Beirut 2017 startup that has now eclipsed US $500 million in revenue. We visited a Toters dark grocery tour, took a four hour tour of the foothills surrounding Beirut, and had a fantastic outdoor dinner at the Em Sharif Cafe with Fadi Majdalani, chair of Endeavor Lebanon, Ghaith YAFI of BY Venture Partners, and others. Then, twelve days later, Oct 7 happened. The Toters team had to adjust to a completely different environment while continuing to run their business--as their services became even more critical for the people of Lebanon and Iraq. Tamim Khalfa is my guest on The Bear Roars! Thank you Adrian Garcia-Aranyos! It's during these challenging times that we realize the importance of being part of a solid community/family such as Endeavor! Lebanese entrepreneurs are the ones that are AMAZING. From one crisis to another, they have managed to build thriving companies and Endeavor Lebanon is proud to be part of their story by mobilizing all the resources they need to succeed irrespective of how challenging their environment is.
Entrepreneurship in times of war. Think starting and scaling a business is hard? Try doing it in times of war when you are dealing with a hostile situation right outside your office/home every day. This year we’ve had two Endeavor offices dealing with that situation, Endeavor Lebanon 🇱🇧 and Endeavor Ukraine 🇺🇦, and still entrepreneurs manage to thrive. In the last few months I think I’ve spoken with Sviatoslav and Christina (the respective Managing Directors of Endeavor Ukraine and Endeavor Lebanon) more than with anyone in the organization and I’ve always been blown away by the fact that while the situation is dire their optimism and resolve stands out. To be honest, speaking with them also helps put any other problem in perspective. I have to say this: You guys are amazing! 🥹 There is no question that the current global geopolitical equilibrium is tense and given the hyperconnected world we live in these conflicts are closer than we think. What’s even more fascinating is that as war is raging, many outstanding entrepreneurs are not only pulling through, but still daring to think big, which means growth, new hires, more investment, more advancement… Today I’m going to highlight Tamim Khalfa, Co-Founder & CEO of toters delivery, based out of Beirut, and Anton Pavlovsky, Founder and CEO of Headway EdTech, based out of Kiev. Two incredible examples of persistence, resilience and determination, and two incredible/inspiring entrepreneurs that I’m sure you’ll be hearing about much more in years to come. When speaking about them I can’t help but think of this 300 year old quote from Molière, "The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it."
