Colon, Panama – August 19, 2024 – Evergreen's Colon Container Terminal (CCT) has taken a significant step towards the sustainability and modernization of its operations with the addition of 12 new hybrid RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry) equipment, not only optimizes the efficiency and competitiveness of the port, but also reaffirms CCT's commitment to the fundamental pillars of sustainability: economic, environmental and social impact in the province of Colon.
Colón Container Terminal (CCT) Refuerza su Capacidad Operativa con la Incorporación de 12 Nuevos Equipos RTG Híbridos en una Inversión de 23 Millones de Dólares. Colón, Panamá – 19 de agosto 2024 – Colón Container Terminal (CCT) ha dado un paso significativo hacia la sostenibilidad y la modernización de sus operaciones con la incorporación de 12 nuevos equipos RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry) híbridos. Esta inversión estratégica, que asciende a 23 millones de dólares, no solo optimiza la eficiencia y competitividad del puerto, sino que también reafirma el compromiso de CCT con los pilares fundamentales de la sostenibilidad: impacto económico, ambiental y social en la provincia de Colón. La ceremonia de recepción de los nuevos equipos tuvo lugar este lunes en las instalaciones del puerto, en la provincia de Colón. El evento contó con la presencia de destacadas personalidades del ámbito portuario, diplomático y autoridades locales. Impacto Económico La inversión en estos equipos de última tecnología refuerza el posicionamiento de CCT como un actor clave en la infraestructura logística de Panamá y la región del Caribe. Los nuevos equipos RTG híbridos, capaces de estibar hasta cinco contenedores de altura más uno adicional, mejoran significativamente la eficiencia operativa del puerto. Esta optimización no solo reduce los tiempos de espera y los costos asociados, sino que también aumenta la capacidad de manejo de la terminal, atrayendo más negocios y promoviendo el crecimiento económico en la región. William Elliott, Presidente de Colon Container Terminal (CCT), expresó: “La incorporación de estos 12 equipos RTG híbridos, fabricados por ZPMC, demuestra nuestro firme compromiso con la sostenibilidad y la modernización de nuestras operaciones.
