📅 November 29th marked the final day of Equality Month that we revisit at Litgrid every year. We’ve wrapped it up with a special knowledge sharing event, dedicated specifically to the topics of equal opportunities, inclusion, and diversity. 🤝 Litgrid Knowledge Sharing is an initiative created to exchange expert and team-growth-oriented knowledge with other best-practice national and international organizations. During the event, our guests from EPSO-G and SEB explored case studies from other companies and countries. 📚The Litgrid team also had a great opportunity to hear about the new EPSO-G strategy in this area. #Team #Equality #Diversity

About us
Litgrid is one of the key companies in the national electricity sector – the operator of the electricity transmission system, managing the flow of electricity across Lithuania. We maintain the stable operation of the national electricity network, ensuring the reliable, efficient, high-quality, transparent and safe transmission of electricity. As a company, we implement and manage complex infrastructure and strategic projects of both European and national significance. The NordBalt link with Sweden and the connection with Poland, LitPol Link, were implemented at the end of 2015. Another strategic project, Harmony Link, is currently in the process of implementation. We are also in charge of another power transmission infrastructure project of national significance – the synchronisation of the Lithuanian electricity network with the Continental European grid. This is a key milestone in Litgrid’s 2017–2026 strategy, which sets out our main priorities: integration with European electricity systems, the liberalisation of the electricity market, sustainable development of the transmission grid, the adoption of international standards and best practices, as well as the development of an advanced and modern organisation. At Litgrid, we believe in cooperation, professionalism and progress. These are our core values. Our ambitious vision is to become Europe‘s smartest transmission system operator. #smartestTSO Established in 2010, Litgrid employs 300 professionals in electrical engineering, engineering infrastructure, project management and other disciplines. We are an active member of ENTSO-E, the network of European electricity transmission system operators.

⚡Today, a meeting of the Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan (BEMIP) was held in Vilnius to discuss aspects related to the synchronisation program. 🇪🇺 After the meeting, we presented the progress of the Neris transformer substation, the installation of the Neris synchronous condenser and the construction of the 330 kV Vilnius-Neris power transmission line to representatives of the Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) and the CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency. ⚙️ We are pleased for the opportunity to present the progress of our projects as we make significant strides towards synchronisation with the Continental European Synchronous Area. 🤝 We are grateful to the European Commission for their significant contribution and consistent support, which enable us to implement important projects for our region and move closer to shared European goals. #Synchronisation #EnergyTransformationPartners #EnergyIndependence #CINEA #CEF #BalticSynchro #Cooperation

✅ Electricity transmission system operators of the Continental Europe Synchronous Area adopted decisions on Baltic states power systems isolated operation test and synchronisation with Continental Europe. Litgrid, together with Estonian and Latvian electricity transmission system operators Elering and Augstsprieguma tīkls AS, will join the Continental European Synchronous Area in February 2025. 🇪🇺 The decisions were made by Regional Group Continental Europe (RG CE), a body of ENTSO-E, an association of European electricity TSOs. The RG CE approved the Baltic states power systems island operation test programme and the start of trial synchronous operation with Continental Europe on 9th of February 2025. The Baltic TSOs will continue implementing some remaining measures by the end of 2024. ⚡ On 8 February, the Baltic operators will disconnect the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian electricity systems from the IPS/UPS system and will start a joint isolated operation test, before synchronising with continental Europe on the 9th of February 2025. Synchronisation – connecting to Continental Europe – will ensure independent, stable, and reliable management of the Baltic States' electricity systems and contribute to the energy security of the entire region. Synchronisation will enable better EU transmission system interconnectivity and market integration, allowing Baltic electricity systems to operate under common and transparent European rules to the benefit of all the consumers. 🤝 Litgrid, Augstsprieguma tīkls AS and Elering, have signed the Baltic system operation region operational agreement, which describes the principles of cooperation after joining Continental Europe Synchronous Area. 🔗 The agreement will enter into force from the moment of synchronisation of Baltic power systems with Continental Europe, which is planned on 9 February 2025. 💬 “As we are closely working together to carry out Baltic synchronisation, we intend to continue our strong partnership in system operations, which helps us all to ensure system stability and reliability. The operational agreement describes the principles for our cooperation and complements other regulations and agreements” says Donatas Matelionis, Head of Power System Operations Department at Litgrid. #BalticSynchro #EnergyIndependence #Cooperation #EnergyTransformationPartners

We are most effective when working flexibly at the office and remotely 🌐 In October, we conducted a hybrid work model and an emotional pulse survey, revealing that the hybrid model: 📈 significantly contributes to employee effectiveness at Litgrid (98.1% of respondents) ✔️meets their expectations (99.1% of respondents) ⚖️helps maintain a balance between work and personal life (93.8% of respondents) ❤️The overall emotional pulse of the organization remains strong, with a score of 8.16 out of 10 💡Of course, it is important to reinforce this work model with internal agreements: we encourage teams to meet in person regularly and attend live events to foster the sense of community, and, when working remotely, to turn on their video cameras to strengthen interpersonal connections. #Team #EnergyFutureCentre

☴ Wind farms generated the most electricity in October, producing 281 GWh. This accounted for 47% of all electricity generated in Lithuania. The windy weather helped mitigate the impact of power plant and interconnector repairs in the region on electricity prices. 📅 October 20 was an exceptional day when the average daily electricity price reached EUR 2.6/MWh, the second lowest in history. Additionally, the last day of the month saw a new hourly wind generation record of 1,216 MW. 📊 The wholesale price of electricity in Lithuania rose by 9% last month, increasing from €83.7/MWh to €91.5/MWh. This price increase was driven by a halving of solar generation and the annual repairs of the NordBalt interconnector and thermal power plants in the region. ⚡ Overall, Lithuania generated 603 GWh of electricity in October, which is 2% more than in September, when generation reached 591 GWh. Domestic power plants accounted for 59% of the country’s electricity consumption. Compared to September, average monthly electricity consumption increased by 6%. #EnergyTransformationPartners #ElectricityMarket #RES
