This year, 160,000 participants took part in eight different challenges, walking and cycling for their cities, towns, schools, universities, organizations, and communities. But the most meaningful achievement isn’t just the participation—it’s the time spent moving. On average, participants dedicated nearly an hour per day to physical activity, marking a 12% increase compared to last year. More than 100,000 people active approximately an hour per day. For two months! 🤯 That’s the impact of the National Mobility Challenge, initiated on the walk15.app by the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and the Office of the President of the Republic of Lithuania. Over the past two months, cities, towns, schools, universities, and communities across Lithuania—and beyond—came together to walk, bike, and promote active lifestyles, sustainable mobility, and the values of a green Lithuania. The results, you ask? 🤔 ✔️ 160,000 participants, 3000 teams joined. ✔️ 45 billion steps taken – the equivalent of 900 trips around the Earth! ✔️ Participants walked 12% more actively than last year, averaging 5,000 steps daily. ✔️ That’s 56 minutes of daily physical activity per participant. The largest challenge of the 8 that took place was the School Challenge with 61,000 students and their teachers participating—a 10% increase from last year. 😍😍 The Town Challenge and Global Lithuanian Challenge also saw impressive growth, with 22% and 24% more participants, respectively. These results show the power of collective action and our shared commitment to building healthier, more sustainable habits for a greener future.
