Two phenomenal 2D material technologies are in our innovation pipeline: 1️⃣ Smart E-Textiles 🎽: Think smart clothing that not only looks great but serves a purpose! We're focusing on creating wearable powerhouses and self-charging textiles. If you are interested in porous graphene structures or supercapacitors check out our recently published work at Chemical Engineering Journal. As we show, the use of our patented LEST method leverages on the decomposition of a fluoropolymer-coated precursor, towards the simultaneous synthesis and transfer of F-doped few-layered graphene structures with tunable fluorine content onto the cathodes of Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors. The presence of even a low F-content, does not only improve specific surface area, but also contributes to charge storage through electrochemical reactions that involve the electrolyte's Zn cations, as verified via experimental findings and DFT calculations. This study was realized thanks to the exceptional contributions from all lab mates and colleagues involved, and especially Kapil Bhorkar, while this research was funded through the GRAPHERGIA project. https://lnkd.in/dNVWAr5W #graphene #supercapacitors
