🇳🇵Last month, Team IBISA, represented by our India Lead, Balachandran M K, and Africa Lead, Gideon Ataraire, participated in the International Conference on Inclusive Insurance (ICII) 2024 held in Kathmandu, Nepal. 💡 The ICII serves as a global non-profit platform, bringing together experts from NGOs, development-aid organisations, policymakers, regulators, and the insurance industry. The aim is to foster dialogue, exchange experiences, and tackle the challenges of extending risk management solutions based on insurance principles to low-income households and MSMEs. Bala contributed to two key sessions where he introduced IBISA's innovative approaches. He highlighted our collaboration with farmer organisations to deliver affordable, sustainable, and scalable insurance solutions. #Throwback One month ago the IBISA NETWORK #Team was in #Dakar, connecting with key partners— Compagnie Nationale d'Assurance Agricole du Sénégal (CNAAS), La Laiterie Du Berger, World Food Programme, and many others—to reinforce our shared vision of revolutionising agricultural insurance resilience and risk management for smallholder farmers. 🚀 Since 2022, IBISA has been committed to developing, alongside CNAAS, and with support from ADA asbl, a 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 designed to empower smallholder farmers and pastoralists, who traditionally lack access to insurance. Thanks to parametric insurance, we’re not only mitigating risks but also creating a safety net that fosters investment and growth. 🐮 More recently, we've advanced our 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭-𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in Senegal, discussing with La Laiterie du Berger. Founded in 2006 by Bagoré Bathily, this Senegalese social enterprise collects milk from farmers, providing them with a stable income. One of their core missions is to generate positive social impact alongside economic profitability. 🌐 Additionally, we had an insightful meeting with Siré DABO from the World Food Programme about the Africa Integrated Climate Risk Management Programme (AICRM), which seeks to strengthen the resilience of smallholder farmers across seven Sahelian countries, including Senegal. We finally had the privilege of meeting with representatives from the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Dakar, where we explored #business #opportunities for IBISA in Senegal.
