Last week, our Senior Startup Ecosystem Project Manager, Ieva Felman, joined the Invest in Latvia DeepTech delegation to the leading industry conference Hello Tomorrow in Paris. During two days of conference StartupLatvia booth, she had a chance to meet investors and ecosystem players of the European #DeepTech scene who showed interest in Latvian #startups and were impressed by their inventions and achievements. ✨
During the reception at the Embassy of Latvia in France, organized by Economic Advisor in France Eliza Drazniece in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Eduards Stiprais, more than 50 international representatives of the startup ecosystem, VCs, business angels, investors, policymakers, and research institutions gathered for networking. Our colleague Ieva Felman was invited to host the panel discussion about Latvia’s deep tech ecosystem. Together with the panelists Anton Adamovitch Commercialisation Reactor, Aleksandrs Parfinovics Naco Technologies, and Reinis Spunde Catalyco, they deep-dived into topics of what is the special sauce of startups in Latvia, what is in the core of our entrepreneurial DNA and what is our approach to transforming scientific inventions into real-life applications.
✔ One thing was clear: talent is everywhere, and #Latvia is good not only at nurturing local talent but also at attracting talent from foreign countries and helping them find their commercial potential in a startup-friendly environment.
✔Most important of all, resilience was mentioned, sending a message especially to investors that when investing in startups born in Latvia, you will get not only highly talented, globally thinking founders but also highly motivated founders.
The event was valuable and insightful, thanks to the organizing team and all the participants. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with the international #DeepTech community in the heart of Europe. We look forward to seeing many people who met in Paris in #Riga for the DeepTech Atelier conference on May 16-17. 🚀
