Exciting Progress from the Energy Equilibrium Project Partner Meeting in Malmö! We’re thrilled to share the highlights from our recent partner meeting of the Energy Equilibrium project, held in Malmö, Sweden on September 24-25, 2024. The event brought together key representatives from the municipalities of Gulbene, Tukums, Wejherowo, Tomelilla, and Mikolajki Pomorskie, along with energy companies and research institutions across the Baltic Sea region, including ZEBAU GmbH - Centre for Energy, Construction, Architecture and the Environment, Thermopolis Ltd, the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences (IMP PAN), Sustainable Business Hub, the Lithuanian Energy Institute, and our lead partner, Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University). Key discussions centered on the vital role of municipalities as regulators and motivators of energy transition. Knowledge exchange was a primary focus, with partners reviewing pilot outcomes, renewable energy strategies, and attending an international conference on energy storage. We’re proud to announce that the Energy Equilibrium modelling tool is now finalized and is being scaled for use in municipalities across the region. We’re also working on the next major milestone - developing the roadmap for renewable energy transitions in the Baltic Sea region. By 2025, we aim to finalize key deliverables like public seminars, webinars, and scientific publications to share our findings with both the scientific community and the public. We’re thrilled about the progress so far, and the collaboration between partners and municipalities is driving us closer to a sustainable, renewable energy future. Explore the latest version of the tool here: https://lnkd.in/d4dCshDR Stay tuned for more updates by following our project page: https://lnkd.in/d6Ty4a6A #EnergyEquilibrium #EnergyEfficiency #EnergyStorage #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #InterregBaltic

🌊🚀 Wrapping Up the BOWE2H Project🌱⚡️ The BOWE2H project has come to an end, marking the close of an incredible journey through the world of offshore wind and green hydrogen. Throughout this project, I gained invaluable experience, met inspiring experts, and learned from my amazing team how to tackle big challenges with a balance of seriousness, creativity, and healthy improvisation. I hope everyone who was part of this journey, even in the smallest way, found something valuable and positive. 📊✨ Very soon, the long-awaited BOWE2H strategic roadmap will be released, highlighting key insights and guiding the path forward for renewable energy in the Baltic Sea region. I’m excited to think that this is just the beginning—a first stop on the road to even more ambitious projects and challenges ahead. 🚀🌍🌱 Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this project a success! 🙌 And thank you, Tony (a sweet and intelligent dog), for representing your social group, for your support in our final event, and for bringing positive vibes throughout this project. 🐾❤️ #BOWE2H #InterregBalticSeaRegion #LEA #Greenhydrogen #offshorewind

⌛ 23 days left until our BSSSC Annual Conference in Kiel! To give you an insight into what to expect, we asked Wedad Kabi from the STRING Megaregion three questions about the workshop “Developing and Employing Hydrogen Infrastructure in Northern Europe: Stakeholder Perspectives on Cross-Border Cooperation and the Future of Sustainable Transport". ⛽ 🗝️ What’s the key aspect of your workshop? The main objectives are to raise awareness about the critical importance of hydrogen infrastructure, to address the lack of political support, and to identify solutions to cross-industry and cross-border policy challenges. To bring together key stakeholders from hydrogen interest organizations, HDV companies and policy makers from the Baltic Sea region, we will discuss the development and implementation of hydrogen infrastructure in Northern Europe. 🌊 What makes your topic relevant and important for the Baltic Sea Region? By supporting the transition to renewable energy, the development of hydrogen infrastructure in the Baltic Sea Region reduces reliance on fossil fuels and enhances energy security. Lowering greenhouse gas emissions also helps the region in reaching its climate goals and in working towards a sustainable and resilient energy future. Developing a common hydrogen infrastructure, we can furthermore facilitate a cross-border energy cooperation and integration and foster regional economic growth and technological innovation. 🔭 What’s to be expected? A discussion that will cover a wide range of topics such as the integration of hydrogen infrastructure projects with other initiatives like GREATER4H, the impact on the HDV sector, political and regulatory support, funding strategies, technological and operational challenges and the promotion of stakeholder cooperation. The topics will be further narrowed down in collaboration with the panellists. We will conclude with an interactive session with the audience. Want to know more?
