🏆 The prize for the most significant achievement in applied science in Latvia in 2024 has been awarded to the research team of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis! Last week, at the awards ceremony for the winners of the Latvian Academy of Sciences' science achievement competition, Olpha Chairman of the Board and LAS Honorary Doctor Juris Bundulis presented the award to the research group of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis for their outstanding scientific achievement. The study "A Crystal Engineering Approach to the Development of Adaptive and Long-Lasting Luminescent Organic Materials", conducted by M.Sc. Artūrs Mazarevičs, Dr. chem. Artis Kinēns, Dr. chem. We, Olpha, continue to expand our medication portfolio, improving access to medications in the Baltics and Europe. 🌎 Since the end of 2024, three new "Olpha" pharmaceutical products have become available to patients in the Baltic states: 📌 In cardiology 📌 In oncology 📌 In urology 38 new medications have already been submitted for registration in the European Union—Germany, France, Poland, the Baltics, and other countries. "By supporting local manufacturers, we strengthen not only the pharmaceutical industry but also Latvia's economy and healthcare," emphasizes Olpha's Chairman of the Board, Juris Bundulis. 📌 In a survey conducted by Olpha and the Latvian Children’s Support Fund, carried out by the research company Norstat, it was revealed that 17% of parents very often observe mental health issues in their children, while 43% of parents observe these problems frequently. Additionally, 32% of parents indicated that they notice these issues once a month, and 8% of parents chose not to answer. This indicates that more and more children are facing emotional and mental difficulties, which require attention and support. 👉 Olpha emphasizes the importance of monitoring children’s mental well-being and not ignoring even the smallest signs that may indicate problems. 📌On February 11th, in honor of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we highlight the significant role of women in the development of science and technology. Among our Olpha colleagues, we are proud to have outstanding female scientists who make valuable contributions to the pharmaceutical field. 👉🏻One of them is Aiga Andrejeva, the Head of the Microbiology Laboratory, who has been dedicated to advancing microbiological control in Olpha’s production and industrial facilities for the past 10 years. Aiga's professional journey began at the University of Latvia, Faculty of Biology, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Biology. After completing her studies, she joined Olpha, and within a year and a half, she was promoted to Head of the Microbiology Laboratory. Under her leadership, the laboratory continues to grow, implementing new technologies in microbiological testing to ensure the highest quality and safety of our medications. 👩🏻🔬Aiga encourages every woman and girl considering a career in science to stay curious and find motivation in a field that brings both fulfillment and growth. #Olpha #WithinReach
