Dil-Luminati Tour Success
Diljit’s Dil-Luminati tour kicked off in October 2024 in Delhi and was originally scheduled to conclude in Guwahati. However, a surprise show in Ludhiana was added on December 31, 2024, and tickets for the event sold out almost immediately. Fans were thrilled to witness Diljit’s electrifying performance one last time in his home country.Ludhiana Concert Faces Legal Trouble
Despite the success of the tour, Diljit’s Ludhiana concert encountered some controversy. Punditrao Dharenavar, an assistant professor from Chandigarh, approached the Women and Child Department of the Government of Punjab, asking the local authorities to prevent Diljit from performing certain songs. The complaint called for a ban on tracks like "Patiala Pegg", "5 Tara Theke", and "Case (Jeeb Vicho Feem Labbiya)", which were allegedly promoting alcohol. This request was made after previous warnings were issued to Diljit by various commissions about the content of his music. Despite these advisories, Diljit is said to have performed the controversial tracks with slight modifications to the lyrics. Dharenavar referred to a ruling from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2019, which directed the police to ensure that no songs promoting substances like alcohol or drugs be played at public events, fearing the impact on young audiences.
Diljit’s team has yet to respond to the allegations, leaving fans and critics waiting for an official statement.
