When going through a transition, there are lessons we often learn the hard way. However, as a community, it’s important to share these lessons so that fellow veterans don’t have to face the same challenges. Through personal experiences and collective wisdom, we’ve gathered some valuable tips to guide you through the process. Here they are, in no particular order: 1. Plan early, plan often: Start preparing for your transition well in advance. Utilize your education benefits, build a network, and engage with potential employers to understand the skills they’re looking for. 2. Know your WHY: Clearly define your reason for leaving the service, pursuing a certain degree, or targeting a specific job or company. Your "why" will serve as the foundation for your elevator pitch and help others understand how they can support you. 3. It’s OK to ask for help: Transitioning can be stressful, and it’s okay to seek support. Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, and can positively affect your job interviews and overall well-being. Remember, your journey is important, and support is available. Together, we can empower each other through the transition. #All #ActiveDuty #TransitioningMilitary #MilitarySpouses #Reservist #Veterans #ACTNowEducation

Curious about how to showcase your education on your resume? Check out these tips: 𝟭. 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Prioritize your work history over education, especially if you're not a recent graduate. 𝟮. 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿: List your education starting with the most recent degree. If older courses are more relevant, highlight those first. 𝟯. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗣𝗔: Highlight honors and relevant projects rather than your GPA, as employers value skills more. 𝟱. 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Add any professional development or online courses, especially if you lack extensive relevant experience.
