     Thomas George Anson, 2nd Earl of Lichfield was born on 15 August 1825.¹ He was the son of Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield and Louisa Catherine Philips.¹ He married Lady Harriett Georgiana Louisa Hamilton, daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell, on 10 April 1855.² He died on 7 January 1892 at age 66.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was with the Foreign Office between 1846 and 1847.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Lichfield between 1847 and 1854.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Soberton, of Soberton, co. Southampton [U.K., 1806] on 18 March 1854.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Anson, of Shugborough and Orgrave, co. Stafford [U.K., 1806] on 18 March 1854.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Lichfield, co. Stafford [U.K., 1831] on 18 March 1854.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire between 1863 and 1871.¹

     Lady Harriett Georgiana Louisa Hamilton was born on 6 July 1834.² She was the daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell.³ She married Thomas George Anson, 2nd Earl of Lichfield, son of Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield and Louisa Catherine Philips, on 10 April 1855.⁴ She died on 23 April 1913 at age 78.⁴
     Her married name became Anson.

     Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield was born on 20 October 1795.¹ He was baptised at Colwich, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson and Lady Anne Margaret Coke.¹ He married Louisa Catherine Philips, daughter of Nathaniel Philips, on 11 February 1819.² He died on 18 March 1854 at age 58.²

Southampton [U.K., 1806] on 31 July 1818.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Anson, of Shugborough and Orgrave, co. Stafford [U.K., 1806] on 31 July 1818.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1830.² He was created 1st Earl of Lichfield, co. Stafford [U.K.] on 15 September 1831.² He held the office of Postmaster-General between 1835 and 1841, when the penny-post was introduced.² He held the office of High Steward of Yarmouth between 1836 and 1854.²

     Louisa Catherine Philips was the daughter of Nathaniel Philips.¹ She married Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield, son of Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson and Lady Anne Margaret Coke, on 11 February 1819.¹ She died on 20 August 1879.¹
     Her married name became Anson.

     Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson was born on 14 February 1767.¹ He was the son of George Anson and Hon. Mary Venables-Vernon.¹ He married Lady Anne Margaret Coke, daughter of Thomas William Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester of Holkham and Jane Dutton, on 15 September 1794 at Holkham, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He died on 31 July 1818 at age 51 at St. James's Square, St. James's, London, England^G.² He was buried on 10 August 1818 at Shugborough, Staffordshire, England^G.² His will was proven (by probate) in September 1818.²
     He was given the name of Thomas Adams at birth.¹ On 30 April 1773 his name was legally changed to Thomas Anson.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Lichfield between 1789 and 1806.¹ He was created 1st Viscount Anson, of Shugborough and Orgrave, co. Stafford [U.K.] on 17 February 1806.¹ He was created 1st Baron Soberton, of Soberton, co. Southampton [U.K.] on 17 February 1806.¹

     Lady Anne Margaret Coke was born on 23 January 1779 at Holkham, Norfolk, England^G.² She was the daughter of Thomas William Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester of Holkham and Jane Dutton.¹ She was baptised on 23 February 1779 at Holkham, Norfolk, England^G.² She married Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson, son of George Anson and Hon. Mary Venables-Vernon, on 15 September 1794 at Holkham, Norfolk, England^G.¹ She died on 23 May 1843 at age 64 at Harley Street, Soho, London, England^G.² She was buried on 31 May 1843 at Shugborough, Staffordshire, England^G.² Her will was proven (by probate) on 15 July 1843.²
     Her married name became Anson. After her marriage, Lady Anne Margaret Coke was styled as Viscountess Anson on 17 February 1806. Her last will was dated 5 October 1839.

     Hon. William Victor Leopold Horatio Anson was born on 1 August 1833.¹ He was the son of Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield and Louisa Catherine Philips.¹ He died in 1856.¹
     He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy.¹

     Rt. Rev. Thomas Legh Claughton married Hon. Julia Susannah Ward, daughter of William Humble Ward, 10th Baron Ward of Birmingham and Amelia Pillans, on 14 June 1842.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinty (D.D.)² He held the office of Bishop of St. Albans.³

     Sir Gilbert Henry Claughton, 1st and last Bt. is the son of Rt. Rev. Thomas Legh Claughton and Hon. Julia Susannah Ward.¹
     He gained the title of 1st Baronet Claughton.

     Lady Anne Frederica Anson was born on 22 February 1823. She was the daughter of Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield and Louisa Catherine Philips.¹ She married Francis Richard Charteris, 10th Earl of Wemyss, son of Francis Wemyss-Charteris, 9th Earl of Wemyss and Lady Louisa Bingham, on 29 August 1843.¹ She died on 22 July 1896 at age 73 at London, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Charteris. After her marriage, Lady Anne Frederica Anson was styled as Countess of Wemyss on 1 January 1883.
