     Frederick Trench was born in 1804.¹ He was the son of Richard Trench and Melesina Chenevix.¹ He died in 1806.¹

     Henry James Tufton, 1st Baron Hothfield of Hothfield was born on 4 June 1844.² He was the son of Sir Richard Tufton, 1st Bt. and Adelaide Amelie Lacour.² He married Alice Harriot Argyll Stracey, daughter of Reverend William James Stracey-Clitherow and Maria Diana Bourchier, on 17 December 1872.² He died on 29 October 1926 at age 82.²
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Tufton, of Appleby Castle, co. Westmorland [U.K., 1851] on 20 June 1871.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Cumberland and Westmorland in 1874.² He held the office of Vice-Admiral of Cumberland and Westmorland.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cumberland and Westmorland.² He was created 1st Baron Hothfield of Hothfield, co. Kent [U.K.] on 11 October 1881.² He held the office of Lord-in-Waiting in 1886.² He held the office of Mayor of Appleby between 1895 and 1896.²

     Hon. Sackville Philip Tufton was born on 5 May 1875.² He is the son of Henry James Tufton, 1st Baron Hothfield of Hothfield and Alice Harriot Argyll Stracey.^1,2 He married, firstly, Cicely Mary Isabel Hill, daughter of Captain Arthur Blundell George Sandys Hill and Helen Emily Trench, on 22 April 1911.¹ He married, secondly, Winifred Mary Ripley Dalton, daughter of Edward Ripley Dalton and Winifred Jones, on 9 December 1913.¹ He died on 24 January 1936 at age 60.²
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Westmorland.²

     Madeline Edith Hill was the daughter of Captain Arthur Blundell George Sandys Hill and Helen Emily Trench.¹ She married John Edward Fowler Sclater on 12 January 1917.¹ She died on 20 March 1921.¹
     From 12 January 1917, her married name became Sclater.¹
