     Mary Elizabeth Pringle was born on 14 November 1916.1 She was the daughter of Sir Norman Robert Pringle of Stichill, 8th Bt. and Florence Madge Vaughan.2 She married, firstly, Major George Charles Anderson, son of George Wallace Anderson and Mabel Frances Mary Bailey, on 6 October 1938.1 She and Major George Charles Anderson were divorced in 1963.1 She married, secondly, Richard Anthony Mann Roberts, son of Captain R. M. Roberts, in 1963.1 She died on 31 March 1996 at age 79.1
     From 6 October 1938, her married name became Anderson. She adopted John Louis Wallace Anderson.1 From 1963, her married name became Roberts.1

     Sir Francis John Badcock Sykes, 10th Bt. was born on 7 June 1942.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Godfrey Sykes, 9th Bt. and Eira Betty Badcock.2 He married Susan Alexandra Ashmore, daughter of Admiral Sir Edward Beckwith Ashmore and Elizabeth Mary Doveton Sturdee, on 30 April 1966.1 He died on 15 October 2020 at age 78.3
     Sir Francis John Badcock Sykes, 10th Bt. usually went by his middle name of John.      He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Fleet.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1971.2 He was Chief of the Defence Staff in 1977.4 He held the office of First Sea Lord.4
