     Sir Richard Lucy, 1st Bt. was born circa 1592.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Lucy and Constance Kingsmill.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Cock, daughter of Sir Henry Cock and Ursula Bury, after 28 May 1616.1 He married, secondly, Rebecca Chapman, daughter of Thomas Chapman, after 1645.1,2 He died on 6 April 1667 at Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was buried on 12 April 1667 at Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 22 April 1667.3
     He matriculated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 19 June 1607.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1608.1 He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 4 July 1611 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was appointed Knight in 1617.4 He was knighted /8, Member of Parliament (M.P.) Old Sarum 1647–53 and Hertfordshire 1654–55 and 1656–58 in January 1617.5 On 11 March 1617 so created /8.5 He was appointed Knight on 8 January 1617/18 at Whitehall, London, EnglandG.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lucy, of Broxborne, co. Hertford [England] on 11 March 1617/18.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Old Sarum between 1647 and 1653.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Old Hertfordshire from 1654 to 1655.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Old Hertfordshire between 1656 and 1658.1 His last will was dated 4 April 1667.3
