     Lady Jemima Hope Johnstone was the daughter of James Hope Johnstone, 3rd Earl of Hopetoun and Lady Elizabeth Carnegie.¹ She married Admiral Sir George Hope-Vere, son of Hon. Charles Hope-Vere and Helen Dunbar, in 1803.¹ She died on 29 August 1808.¹
     From 1803, her married name became Hope-Vere.¹

     Elizabeth Maud Dunsmuir was born on 15 April 1882 at Departure Bay, British Columbia, Canada.² She was the daughter of Hon. James Dunsmuir and Laura Miller Surles.^1,3 She married Major John Alexander Henry Hope, son of Sir Edward Stanley Hope and Constance Christina Leslie, on 15 April 1907.¹ She and Major John Alexander Henry Hope were divorced in 1923.¹ She died on 27 December 1962 at age 80.¹
     Her married name became Hope.

     Frances Ann Jarman was born in 1962.¹ She is the daughter of Neil Jarman and Anne Jennifer Murray.¹ She married Richard Allen in 1989.¹
     From 1989, her married name became Allen.¹

     Margaret Cockton was the daughter of John Cockton.¹ She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. George Everard Hope, son of Henry Walter Hope and Lady Mary Catherine Constance Primrose, on 8 April 1911.¹ She married, secondly, Lionel Clement Erskine Clark on 3 October 1919.¹ She died on 5 January 1923.¹
     From 8 April 1911, her married name became Hope. From 3 October 1919, her married name became Clark.

     James Hope Johnstone, 3rd Earl of Hopetoun was born on 23 August 1741.¹ He was the son of John Hope, 2nd Earl of Hopetoun and Lady Anne Ogilvy.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Carnegie, daughter of Admiral George Carnegie, 6th Earl of Northesk and Lady Anne Leslie, on 16 August 1766.¹ He died on 29 May 1817 at age 75.³
     He was given the name of James Hope at birth.¹ His name was legally changed to James Hope Johnstone.¹ He gained the rank of officer between 1758 and 1764 in the 3rd Foot Guards.³ He fought in the Battle of Minden in 1759.³ In 1781 he was appointed Curator Bonis (Trustee in Lunacy) for his great-half-uncle, 4th Earl of Annandale and Hartfell.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount of Aithrie [S., 1703] on 12 February 1781.³ He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Hope [S., 1703] on 12 February 1781.³ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Hopetoun [S., 1703] on 12 February 1781.³ He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1784 and 1790.¹ He held the office of Hereditary Steward of Annandale and Hereditary Keeper of Lochmaben Palace.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Lord Johnstone [S., 1662] on 29 April 1792, de jure.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Annandale and Hartfell [S., 1662] on 29 April 1792, de jure.³ He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1794 and 1796.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Linlithgowshire between 1794 and 1816.¹ In 1795 he claimed the Annandale estates and titles, but no progress was made before his death.¹ He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of County Linlithgow.¹ He was created 1st Baron Hopetoun of Hopetoun, co. Linlithgow [Scotland] on 3 February 1809, with special remainder to the heirs male of his father.³

     Lady Elizabeth Carnegie was the daughter of Admiral George Carnegie, 6th Earl of Northesk and Lady Anne Leslie.^1,3 She married James Hope Johnstone, 3rd Earl of Hopetoun, son of John Hope, 2nd Earl of Hopetoun and Lady Anne Ogilvy, on 16 August 1766.¹ She died on 19 August 1793.⁴
     Her married name became Hope.

     George Archibald Hope of Luffness was born on 15 June 1938.¹ He is the son of Colonel Archibald John George Hope of Luffness and Mary Pilar Elizabeth Gordon.¹ He married Anna Maria Willemina Jacoba Fabius, daughter of Frederick Wilhelm Fabius, on 15 June 1996.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was awarded the Knight of Honour and Devotion, Sovereign Military Order of Malta.¹ He lived between 2003 and 2023 at Luffness, Aberlady, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Alexander Hope was born in 1814.¹ He was the son of General Hon. Sir Alexander Hope and Georgiana Brown.¹ He died in 1835.¹

     Caroline Violet Mary Hope was born on 11 September 1878.² She was the daughter of Colonel Montagu Hope and Constance Maud Fletcher.^1,2 She married Major Ian Ashley Moreton Brodie, 24th of Brodie, son of Hugh Fife Ashley Brodie, 23rd of Brodie and Lady Eleanor Reynolds-Moreton, on 28 April 1904.¹ She died on 10 October 1958 at age 80.¹
     Her married name became Brodie. She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1920.³

     Katherine Evelyn Constance Petty-FitzMaurice, Lady Nairne was born on 22 June 1912.² She was the daughter of Henry William Edmund Petty-FitzMaurice, 6th Marquess of Lansdowne and Elizabeth Caroline Hope.¹ She married Edward Clive Bigham, 3rd Viscount Mersey, son of Charles Clive Bigham, 2nd Viscount Mersey and Mary Gertrude Seymour, on 24 July 1933.² She died on 20 October 1995 at age 83.²
     Her married name became Bigham. She succeeded as the 12th Lady Nairne [S., 1681] on 20 August 1944, suo jure.¹ After her marriage, Katherine Evelyn Constance Petty-FitzMaurice, Lady Nairne was styled as Viscountess Mersey on 20 November 1956.
