     Piers Henry Augustus Butler, 16th Viscount Mountgarret was born on 28 August 1903.¹ He was the son of Henry Edmund Butler, 14th Viscount Mountgarret and Robina Marion Hanning-Lee.¹ He married, firstly, Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie, daughter of William Lorenzo Christie and Eglantine Marie-Corinne Limoges, on 15 October 1931.² He and Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie were divorced in 1941.² He married, secondly, Elise Margarita Barran, daughter of Sir John Nicholson Barran, 2nd Bt. and Alice Margarita Parks, on 14 November 1941.³ He died on 2 August 1966 at age 62.¹
     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Naval College, Darmouth, Devon, England.¹ He succeeded as the 16th Viscount Mountgarret, co. Wexford [I., 1550] on 22 June 1918.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Mountgarret of Nidd, West Riding, co. York [U.K., 1911] on 22 June 1918.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire between 1928 and 1965.¹ He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)¹

     Cecily Duncombe was born on 30 March 1877.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Grey and Katherine Henrietta Venezia Milbank.² She married, firstly, Edmund Somerset Butler, 15th Viscount Mountgarret, son of Henry Edmund Butler, 14th Viscount Mountgarret and Mary Eleanor Charlton, on 1 June 1897.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Charles Hervey Grey on 12 July 1919.¹ She died on 8 April 1961 at age 84.¹
     From 1 June 1897, her married name became Butler. After her marriage, Cecily Duncombe was styled as Viscountess Mountgarret on 2 October 1912. From 12 July 1919, her married name became Grey.¹

     Arthur Grey was born on 11 February 1840.¹ He was the son of Admiral Hon. Arthur Duncombe and Delia Field.² He married Katherine Henrietta Venezia Milbank, daughter of Henry John Milbank and Lady Margaret Henrietta Maria Grey, on 12 June 1869.¹ He died on 12 July 1911 at age 71.¹

     Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie was born in November 1908.¹ She is the daughter of William Lorenzo Christie and Eglantine Marie-Corinne Limoges.¹ She married Piers Henry Augustus Butler, 16th Viscount Mountgarret, son of Henry Edmund Butler, 14th Viscount Mountgarret and Robina Marion Hanning-Lee, on 15 October 1931.¹ She and Piers Henry Augustus Butler, 16th Viscount Mountgarret were divorced in 1941.¹ She married, secondly, Rear-Admiral Patrick Vivian McLaughlin, son of Vivian Guy McLaughlin and Edith Jane Martineau, in 1956.²
     Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie usually went by her middle name of Elizabeth.² After her marriage, Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie was styled as Viscountess Mountgarret on 15 October 1931.² From 15 October 1931, her married name became Butler. She lived in 1952 at 7 Shepherds House, Shepherd Street, London, England^G.¹ From 1956, her married name became McLaughlin.²

     William Lorenzo Christie was born on 18 December 1858.² He was the son of Hector Christie and Mary Elizabeth Simpson.¹ He married, firstly, Eglantine Marie-Corinne Limoges, daughter of Joseph Limoges and Susanne Brazier, on 16 January 1907 at Notre Dame, Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G.^3,2 He married, secondly, Rachel Reynard, daughter of Captain Francis Horner Reynard, on 14 December 1922.² He died on 20 February 1962 at age 103.⁴
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 2nd West Yorkshire Yeomanry.² He lived at Jervaulx Abbey, Yorkshire, North Riding, England^G.¹

     Sir John Nicholson Barran, 2nd Bt. was born on 16 August 1872.¹ He was the son of John Barran and Eliza Henrietta Nicholson.² He married, firstly, Alice Margarita Parks, daughter of Reverend Leighton Parks, on 18 November 1902.² He married, secondly, Esther Frances Fisher, daughter of Francis Marion Bates Fisher and Esther Davie, on 14 November 1946.² He died on 8 July 1952 at age 79.²

     Richard Henry Piers Butler, 17th Viscount Mountgarret was born on 8 November 1936.² He was the son of Piers Henry Augustus Butler, 16th Viscount Mountgarret and Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie.³ He married, firstly, Gillian Margaret Buckley, daughter of Cyril Francis Stewart Buckley and Audrey Burmester, on 20 May 1960.² He and Gillian Margaret Buckley were divorced in 1970.² He married, secondly, Jennifer Susan Melville Wills, daughter of Captain Walter Douglas Melville Wills and Pamela Violet Tudway, on 29 April 1970.³ He and Jennifer Susan Melville Wills were divorced in 1983.² He married, thirdly, Angela Ruth Porter, daughter of Major Thomas G. Porter, on 25 May 1983.² He died on 7 February 2004 at age 67.⁴
     He succeeded as the 17th Viscount Mountgarret, co. Wexford [I., 1550] on 2 August 1966.³ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Mountgarret of Nidd, West Riding, co. York [U.K., 1911] on 2 August 1966.³

     Gillian Margaret Buckley is the daughter of Cyril Francis Stewart Buckley and Audrey Burmester.² She married, firstly, Richard Henry Piers Butler, 17th Viscount Mountgarret, son of Piers Henry Augustus Butler, 16th Viscount Mountgarret and Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie, on 20 May 1960.³ She and Richard Henry Piers Butler, 17th Viscount Mountgarret were divorced in 1970.³ She married, secondly, John Osmael Scott-Ellis, 9th Lord Howard de Walden, son of Thomas Evelyn Scott-Ellis, 8th Lord Howard de Walden and Margherita van Raalte, in 1978.²
     From 20 May 1960, her married name became Butler. After her marriage, Gillian Margaret Buckley was styled as Viscountess Mountgarret on 2 August 1966. From 1978, her married name became Scott-Ellis. She lived in 2003 at Avington Manor, Hungerford, Berkshire, England.²
