     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He held the office of Archbishop of York between 1578 and 1588.1

     Sir Samuel Sandys was the son of Most Reverend Edwin Sandys and Cecilia Wilford.2 He married Mercy Colpeper, daughter of Martin Colpeper.2 He died on 18 August 1623.2
     He was Sheriff of Worcestershire.2 He was educated at Merchant Taylors' School, London, England.2 Between 1594 and 1610 he leased the Manor of Ombersley, Worcestershire.2
