     James Archibald Douglas Sandilands, Master of Torphichen was born on 6 October 1884.¹ He was the son of James Walter Sandilands, 12th Lord Torphichen and Ellen Frances Gordon.² He died on 29 September 1909 at age 24, unmarried.¹
