     Philip Thickness is the son of John Thickness and Joyce Blencowe.² He married Lady Mary Tuchet, daughter of Mervyn Tuchet, 4th Earl of Castlehaven and Lady Mary Talbot, in November 1749.¹
     A celebrated writer.¹ Lt-Govr of Fort of Landguard Point.¹ He was Captain.¹ His last will was dated 24 January 1793.
