Henry John Fanshawe Badeley, 1st and last Baron Badeley was born on 27 June 1874.1 He was the son of Captain Henry Badeley and Blanche Allhusen.1,2 He died on 27 September 1951 at age 77, unmarried.1
He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was a clerk, Parliament Office, House of Lords in 1897.3 He was Principal Clerk and Taxing Officer, Judicial Department, House of Lords in 1919.3 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1929.1,3 He held the office of Clerk Assistant of Parliament in 1930.3 He held the office of Clerk of Parliament between 1934 and 1949.3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1935.1,3 He was created 1st Baron Badeley, of Badley, co. Suffok [U.K.] on 21 June 1949.1
On his death, his Barony became extinct.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
