Coldplay began the year having their table hijacked at the NME awards.
But they’ve ended it on two major high notes, firstly by being named British Artist Of The Year at the BBC Music Awards over David Bowie.
A Tina Turner musical is in the works and it will be Simply The BestAnd now they’ve also been revealed as the world’s most-streamed band on Spotify.
According to Music Week, they’ve had their songs streamed over five BILLION times.
More than a billion of the overall track streams came from their latest album A Head Full Of Dreams, which has sold 951,540 copies so far.
The four-piece band’s top tracks on the streaming service are Adventure Of A Lifetime, with 322 million streams, and Hymn For The Weekend, with 289 million.
To mark their achievement, Chris Martin and co have released a five-track live EP called Live From Spotify London.
Coldplay currently attracts 25,495,719 listeners to Spotify a month, coming in 12th in the world in terms of the number of fans they attract to the streaming giant.
