TfL has finally confirmed when it will reopen part of the London Underground which has been forced to closed for several weeks.
The Piccadilly line has been suspended in west London following significant leaf fall which has closed the tracks for safety.
Service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge is expected to resume in mid-January. The area has seen unusually significant leaf fall which has caused damage to train wheels.
The rest of the Piccadilly line has severe delays today due to a shortage of trains.
Meanwhile, one lane has closed on the M25 clockwise between junctions J23 and J24 after a crash near Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. Traffic has ground to a halt between J22 and J24.

Gatwick boss issues drone reminder ahead of Christmas
Drone users have been urged to keep them away from Gatwick Airport’s restricted zone.
Mark Johnston, Gatwick’s chief operating officer, said hundreds of drone sightings within the airport’s restriction zone are a ‘drain on resources.’
It comes six years after flights were grounded after a drone sighting ahead of Christmas 2018.
He told BBC News that while there is ‘usually no malice’ behind the incidents, the impact on operations is ‘huge.’
Those who receive drones as a Christmas present this year need to remember that flying a drone within airports’ 3.1-mile restricted zone is illegal and could result in criminal charges.
The Civil Aviation Authority has also reminded drone users that drones weighing more than 250 grams or those fitted with a camera have to be registered with it.
Mysterious drone sightings have made headlines in the US after unidentified objects have been spotted flying over New Jersey, New York and the surrounding areas. Authorities have now come up with a way to detect them using high-tech radar technology deployed in the Russia-Ukraine war.
