Tyson Fury has no plans to retire from boxing just yet despite suffering his second professional defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night.
Fury was seeking revenge on Usyk after his razor-thin defeat in February but tasted defeat again in Saudi Arabia, as all three judges scored the fight 116-112 in favour of the Ukrainian.
The Gypsy King later vented at the judges’ scorecards, describing them as a ‘Christmas gift’ for Usyk, but skirted around questions surrounding his future in the sport.
‘You might see me fight again, you might not,’ he cryptically told reporters shortly after his fight.
The Brit has now returned to the United Kingdom where he will spend Christmas with his family having been away in training camp for the past three months.
However, according to The Sun, Fury, who has made well over £100 million in his last two bouts, has no plans to retire just yet and has told close friends: ‘It’s not over.’
While the 36-year-old is unlikely to pursue a third fight for Usyk having lost the rematch, Fury now reportedly has his sites set on a domestic dust-up with Antony Joshua.
Joshua’s next opponent is yet to be confirmed following his defeat to Daniel Dubois in September, but AJ will not go straight into a rematch with Dubois who is now set to fight Joseph Parker in February.
And with both British heavyweights looking for a dance partner, the road could finally be paved for a huge grudge fight at Wembley in 2025.
And while neither fighter is unbeaten or style in their prime, promoter Eddie Hearn believes the bout can still generate plenty of buzz back home.
‘There’s only one fight for Tyson Fury and that’s Anthony Joshua. It’s the biggest fight probably in the history of British boxing,’ Hearn said after Fury’s loss last weekend.

‘Everyone will always want to see it. For me, AJ against Fury is the one, it’s the one at Wembley. It will be a huge global event.’
A two-fight deal between the two Brits has been mooted which could see both fighters rake in more than £100m each.
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren, meanwhile, told SunSport: ‘It’s what people will want to watch. The Fury-Joshua fight is a great fight and if it happens it will be a mega fight, it will be brilliant.
‘But it will only happen if Tyson wants to do it and that’s a big if. And if he doesn’t want to do it, then so be it.’
