🌍 Last year, in collaboration with BCRS Malta, ESA Earth Systems Association, and KSU Malta - Kunsill Studenti Universitarji, we set up a bottle collection drive on campus to raise funds for Merħba Bik. 🌍 World Clean-Up Day was a resounding success! Żibel are on a mission to reduce waste on the Maltese Islands and restore Malta’s marine environment to its natural state. 🎉The NGO was awarded a grant in 2023 and was one of MEF’s first grant partners. This grant period is coming to an end but we are happy to see that the grant has been put to good use and will continue to help them on their heroic mission. Project name: Żibel Community Coordinator Project duration: September 2023 - September 2024 Grant amount: €5,625 👇Deliverables: ✅Increased income - achieved through increased corporate sponsorship which will be used for a range of projects including: Żibel Studio, Project Użu, ghost net collection and clean ups. ✅Strengthened volunteer attendance - volunteers have increased from an average of 40 per clean up in 2023 to 80 in 2024. ✅Higher levels of engagement - engagement has been achieved through collaborations with sponsors and engagement on social media. Schools are also reaching out to host education talks. Żibel coordinate regular marine clean ups for the public to get involved in.
