Like Israel's answer to Major Lazer, Static & Ben El Tavori stuff their maximalist electro-pop jams with stuttering dancehall percussion, clanging digital effects and warped vocal samples—making for some of the country's most inescapable hook-filled hits. Composed of singers Liraz Russo (Static), Ben El Tavori and producer Jordi, the group emerged with the fluttering, horn-sampling Mizrahi pop of "Barbie" in 2015, then exploded with 2016's Zeitgest smash "Stam", which pays homage to Israel's favourite slang word.
