In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I am from the north of Scotland and inspired by the traditional music I grew up with in the Highlands. My earliest musical memory is going to a local music event and hearing traditional music and wanting to learn. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chris Thile, Edgar Meyer, Stuart Duncan, Yo-Yo Ma, The Goat Rodeo Sessions Danish String Quartet, Last Leaf Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, The Dolphin's Way All 3 albums uniquely combine classical and folk music. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Swilkie” A single from my new album Landscape to light. The album is inspired by the landscape of the north of Scotland. The Swilkie is the most dangerous whirlpool in the Pentland Firth, which is well-known for the strength of its tidal currents. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Recording my new album, “Landscape to Light”, a series of compositions for piano and string quartet. I am joined for this album by the Maxwell String Quartet and Calum Malcolm produced the recording. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Continue to compose music and collaborate with musicians.
