Growing up in a musical family afforded John Michael Montgomery and his brother Eddie (of future Montgomery Gentry fame) the chance to develop in their father's local country band. After being discovered in a Kentucky club, John signed with Atlantic Records and 1992's Life's a Dance kicked off a string of multi-platinum albums. Thanks to a voice that could just as easily croon a romantic love song as cook up some serious workingman's country, the singer/guitarist dominated the decade with more than 30 singles and seven chart-toppers, which continue to make him a top touring attraction.
