Thank you Aviation Festival Asia 2025 for giving us an opportunity to represent the voice of an OTA at a conference traditionally dominated by aviation perspectives. On Day 1 (18 Feb), our very own Nikunj Shanti joined the Digital Products Panel, sharing insights on how businesses can stay proactive, personalised, and predictive to meet soaring passenger expectations. He was in great company, discussing alongside Peter Smith of Cover Genius, Aldric Chau of Cathay Pacific, Andy Koh of Singapore Airlines, and Anupam Bokil of FPT Asia Pacific, with the session skillfully moderated by Henry Harteveldt of Atmosphere Research Group. On Day 2 (19 Feb), Nadia Zahir Omer took center stage, starting with a fireside chat with Daniel Friedli of Travel In Motion, where she unpacked how #AirAsiaMOVE is transforming the travel experience through innovation and customer-centric strategies in APAC. Later, she joined a dynamic panel featuring experts which include Gina Khoo of Star Alliance, Chris Engle of Plusgrade, Alexander Blake of Chubb, and Sherif Hosny of SalamAir, diving into ways airlines can reimagine ancillary offerings to meet the expectations of the 2025 APAC traveler. These moments showcased MOVE’s dedication to driving innovation, enhancing the customer journey, and reshaping the future of travel in the region together with all industry players. Thank you OTM India for having Lim Ben-Jie, who heads up our partnerships team last month in Mumbai! It was a great opportunity to connect with travel leaders, exchange insights, and explore new ways to make travel seamless, personalised, and community-driven together. Vanita Kanoi
OTM India 2025 – A Glimpse Into the Future of Travel Standing on stage at OTM 2025, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far the travel industry has come—and more importantly, where we’re headed. Travel is no longer just about booking a flight or a hotel; it’s about creating experiences, fostering connections, and building a global community of travelers. A huge shoutout to The Fairfest Media Limited for leading such an engaging discussion, and to my fellow panellists Manoj Samuel (CEO & Director, Riya Travel and Tours India Private Limited), Sagar Naik (Vice-President Sales and Distribution, Akasa Air), and Shane Mayer (Vice-President of Global Partnerships, Big Bus Tours) for their invaluable perspectives. Not forgetting the eloquent moderator Shreya Gautam who guided us on our topic of "Building a Connected Travel Ecosystem: How Airlines, Agencies, and OTAs Can Collaborate for Better Travel Experiences." It’s always inspiring to share the stage with brilliant minds who believe in collaboration over competition. At AirAsia MOVE , we believe the future of travel isn’t just seamless—it’s connected, immersive, and community-driven. Imagine a world where: 🌏 A traveler in Bali shares their experience, and another in Jakarta gets inspired to visit the same hidden beach. 📲 Real-time recommendations powered by AI help you find the perfect street food spot in Bangkok, Penang or Mumbai, suggested by someone who was just there an hour ago. 💳 Frictionless payments across borders mean you never have to worry about currency exchange or hidden fees while exploring a new country. 🌱 Sustainability isn’t an afterthought—it’s integrated into every journey, from carbon offset options to eco-conscious travel choices. But beyond technology and partnerships, building a travel community is just as critical. The modern traveler seeks authentic experiences, and as industry leaders, we must enable a space where people can share real travel stories, discover hidden gems, and connect with like-minded explorers. The future of travel is not just about seamless bookings—it’s about creating meaningful journeys. Thank you, OTM India, for an unforgettable experience, and to everyone shaping the future of travel. Excited for what’s next! #OTM2025 #AirAsiaMove #TravelCommunity #SeamlessExperiences #ConnectedTravel #FutureOfTravel

Our CEO, Nadia Zahir Omer had a great discussion on the topic of ‘Friend or Foe? Navigating the Role of OTAs in the Tourism Industry’, alongside Yang Li ( 李杨 ), the Head of Public Affairs of Booking.com and Dr. Sri Ganesh Michiel, National President, Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MyBHA) and moderated by Hannah Pearson, Founding Partner of Pear Anderson at the 2025 ASEAN Tourism Forum in Johor Bahru this morning. Among some of the key points: 1. Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) are indispensable in the modern booking process due to convenience, affordability, and personalization. For example, AirAsia MOVE as an OTA provides seamless trip planning with unique products such as SNAP and the ASEAN Explorer Pass, enabling travelers to save time and access competitive pricing. 2. OTAs also support small businesses and promote sustainability by showcasing eco-friendly options and helping local players gain visibility. 3. As AI and social media transform the travel industry, OTAs must balance innovation, user privacy, and collaboration to stay ahead while delivering value-driven, customer-centric solutions.
