As an IT solutions provider, we understand the crucial role the Information Technology (IT) sector plays as a steady driving force for the economy. We have recently partnered with Rentwise Malaysia to remanufacture laptop devices with the purpose of promoting digital literacy and giving our youths, who are the leaders of tomorrow, equal access to quality education and upskilling. The devices were donated to Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Anggerik with the hope of enabling its students to access tech devices, allowing them to participate in innovation-driven projects such as robotics, game coding, and 3D software development. Alongside these efforts, we have also mobilized the donation of laptops to the Suriana Welfare Society Malaysia and Mary’s Orphanage. As we play our part in narrowing the skills gap and digital divide among youths in these targeted groups, we hope to provide them with access to quality education through the enabling of more technology touchpoints. Education takes on a new digital form in this age, and it is vital that youths stay abreast of the changing times and utilize these tools as part of their education syllabus to stay connected with the world around them. At Arvato Systems Malaysia, we empower our Arvatorians to become coaches in their own capacity and one of our social groups includes Coaching. Being equipped in coaching enables our employees to build on different skillsets which in turn makes them effective leaders. Last weekend, we enjoyed an epic Family Day celebration where employees and their family members spent quality time together at Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur. It was a day filled with plenty of thrills and this included a fun theme park, Big Bucket Splash which made for a thrilling adventure, exhilarating Fun Park rides, a vibrant waterpark, and last but definitely not least, the Skyline Luge which saw our Arvatorians and their families safely zooming down the race course at top speed which consisted of four different tracks presenting different thrills. Alongside all the amazing rides, we also had a caricaturist, body art painter, sand art station, painting station, a clown and a magician who kept the entire family entertained throughout the day. What's more, this time around, we had the pleasure of hosting our Chief Human Resources Officer, Jochen Fuchs, who joined us for the day of festive fun and officiated the ceremony alongside our Human Resources Director, Chloe Gan. We would like to extend our gratitude and a big thank you to the Annual Events committee for organizing a wonderful day of merriment which serves as our last company-wide event of the year and a great time of fun and reflection of the year that has been as well as the year to come. What does it take to give hope and bring meaning into the life of a youth? There is value in investing in the next generation and at Arvato Systems Malaysia (ASM), we believe in sowing the seed for future talents by giving back to the community. Through Mary's Orphanage, our longstanding partner over the past 2 years, we recently collaborated to equip their youths in Information Technology (IT) skills through our TechTrekkers: Next Gen IT Adventure (TechTrekkers) initiative. TechTrekkers seeks to bridge the skills gap amongst youths and we hope that it will serve as the first step towards paving future career pathways in the field of IT and nurture their interest in this innovative sector. With the launch of our "Experience Diversity" campaign, aligned to our recent unveiling of a new corporate brand logo, ASM is pleased to share that we have committed a cash donation of RM3,500 to Mary's Orphanage. Arvato Systems (AS) Chief Human Resources Officer & Group General Counsel, Jochen Fuchs, who is on business travels in Malaysia, was present during the mock cheque handover to Mary's Orphanage. This move is in line with our collective commitment alongside our Offshore companies across the AS group and our handpicked partner has each demonstrated values which mirror the next chapter of AS, anchored in our belief in diversity and our commitment towards promoting an inclusive culture. Alongside the cash donation under our "Experience Diversity" campaign, our Corporate Responsibility committee organized collaborative efforts of which the proceeds were channelled to Mary's Orphanage, along with essential items. ASM Managing Director, Benjamin Dorsch, presented the mock cheque totalling RM3,000 to Mary's Orphanage. It is our hope that through these donations of items and funds, we are able to enrich the lives of the youths and create a brighter future for them. We recently wrapped up our first collaborative session with Cloud Native Kuala Lumpur through a meetup session held at our very own Arvato Systems HQ in Ampang Park. Speakers Jothimani Radhakrishnan and Dr Shawn Tan took on the topics of "Serverless in Kubernetes with Fission" and "Open Source Hardware" where they enlightened attendees on the latest advancements in cloud computing and software security.   During the event, attendees were given the opportunity to learn from industry experts and it also served as a wonderful time of networking and connecting with other industry professionals who have a keen interest in cloud native and open source concepts.   This marks our final collaborative event of the year and we would like to appreciate all of our partners who have allowed us to bring interesting topics such as #ArtificialIntelligence, #Cloud and #Java to more industry professionals in and around the Klang Valley.
