What must be considered to ensure everyone benefits from the development of the network, not just a select few? Researcher Samantha Khoo Su-Yen Khoo suggests a collaborative approach: an ASEAN AI Safety Network that is the key to unlocking ethical and inclusive AI development. 🤝 Uzbekistan & Malaysia are ready to level up our partnership! While #Uzbekistan is Malaysia’s second-largest trading partner in Central Asia, our collaboration extends beyond trade. Both nations are keen to align strategies and explore synergies for stronger #ASEAN-Central Asia cooperation. We hosted a closed-door roundtable to strengthen our partnership, focusing on politics and security, economics and trade, education, tourism and sustainable development. We also inked a memorandum of understanding with the Development Strategy Center to seek alignments in policy frameworks to optimise our long-standing and synergistic relationship. 🚨 Key insights from the roundtable: Security: tackling transnational crime in the Golden Triangle/Crescent with joint training and best practices. ⚡️ Engaging the next generation! ⚡️We recently hosted more than 40 social work students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to learn about public policy. Researchers Yvonne Tan and Kieran Li Nair shared their insights into social & climate policy, sparking lively discussions on the #careeconomy and #climateaction in Malaysia. The UKM students were incredibly engaged, asking insightful questions about flooding, workings of a think-tank, policy impacts on the nation and current affairs like the Social Media Act and #ECRL.
