    PETROS recently hosted the inaugural Sarawak Gas Roadmap (SGR) Summit in Kuching, bringing together more than 500 stakeholders from government, industries and academia to discuss the future of Sarawak’s gas industry.   The Summit showcased investment opportunities under the Sarawak Gas Roadmap – a strategic initiative designed to boost energy independence, drive industrial growth and decarbonisation efforts in Sarawak. Through the SGR, PETROS is redefining the management and distribution of natural resources – retaining value within Sarawak while ensuring access to reliable and affordable energy for all communities, from urban hubs to remote villages.   Officiated by our Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, the event served as a platform for discussions on gas infrastructure, industry capabilities and local talent development.   PETROS is committed to managing Sarawak’s natural resources responsibly and contributing to Sarawak’s growth, improving the quality of life for the people of Sarawak.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/gNJwSJid

  • 2024 marks PETROS’ seventh year of purpose and growth in Sarawak. Recently, more than 1,000 government representatives, industry partners, employees and guests joined us at our 7th Anniversary Dinner at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching to celebrate our shared success since our incorporation in 2017. Our Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg delivered a keynote address at the dinner, highlighting PETROS’ purpose in managing Sarawak’s natural resources to benefit the people of Sarawak. He also shared our recent milestones under the Sarawak Gas Roadmap initiatives, as well as community initiatives including the launch of PETROS Train and Place programme and the Quadruplex Taman Ceria project aimed at improving the lives of Sarawakians. Our Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Hamid Bin Bugo also expressed his gratitude to our partners and Team PETROS, who shared our vision in shaping a sustainable and prosperous future for Sarawak.   • Recently, we held our inaugural PETROS Connect 2024 to showcase our achievements and milestones over the past seven years, while sharing our journey in establishing a low-carbon solutions hub in Sarawak with over 2,000 delegates at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. Our Deputy Premier of Sarawak, who is also the Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development, and Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, officiated at the event and witnessed the exchange of nine Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between PETROS and our strategic partners on Industrial Capability initiatives. As part of our community engagement initiatives, the event also celebrated Sarawak’s rich heritage, featuring local arts, handicrafts, and a Jiran Sekampung booth in partnership with RTM.   • We just launched Sarawak Bid Round (SBR) 2024, a key initiative aimed at harnessing Sarawak's distinctive geology for Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS). The bid round aims to promote and showcase Sarawak’s carbon storage capabilities, providing a transparent and competitive platform for potential investors interested in conducting techno-commercial storage studies to develop the CCUS value chain in Sarawak.   • We recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sarawak Petchem for the supply of natural gas to its upcoming Low-Carbon Ammonia and Urea Plant in Bintulu, Sarawak. This signifies PETROS’ role as the sole Gas Aggregator for Sarawak, focusing on efforts to promote greater statewide gas utilisation while supporting Sarawak’s aspiration to accelerate its development in petrochemical industry and growing its low-carbon economy.
