We are thrilled to share the success of our Oil and Gas Career Day, held concurrently with the Sarawak Career and Training (SCaT) Fair in Kuching from 5 - 6 October. The landmark SCaT Fair drew an impressive crowd of over 20,000 attendees, including many local graduates and final-year students all keen to explore the myriad of career opportunities in the Oil & Gas industry. Over 700 job opportunities were offered, and over 20 leading industry players participated, including JX Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration, as well as Petra Energy Berhad. Attendees also benefitted from the insightful career development talks and invaluable interactions with industry professionals. Empowering Malaysia’s Upstream Sector: PETRONAS Drives Well Continuity and Talent Development.   We are advancing Malaysia’s upstream sector through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), via two key initiatives: the Integrated Well Continuity Services (IWCS) contract and the MPM Hydraulic Workover Unit (HWU) Academy.   The IWCS contract redefines well operations by bringing our industry partners together under a unified framework. This approach boosts efficiency, safety and sustainability, ensuring seamless, cost-effective well performance across our Petroleum Arrangement Contractors (PACs).   On the talent front, the MPM HWU Academy focuses on building the next generation of local experts in hydraulic workover. PETRONAS and PETROVIETNAM have formalised a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) focusing on the joint development of renewable energy projects in Vietnam. PETRONAS President & Group CEO, Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik and PETROVIETNAM Chairman, Dr. Le Manh Hung, exchanged the signed MoC documents in Putrajaya, witnessed by Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the General Secretary of The Central Committee of The Communist Party of Viet Nam, His Excellency Mr. To Lam.   Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik also hosted His Excellency and the Vietnamese delegation at the PETRONAS Twin Towers.   In 1991, PETRONAS ventured into Vietnam as a pioneering investor in the upstream sector, marking the country as one of its earliest global expansions. We were proud to support the 2024 Youth Economic Forum (YEF), held on 26 October in Kuala Lumpur. Centered around the theme, “A Second Economic Takeoff: Malaysia’s Path to the New Economy”, this year’s YEF spotlighted pivotal opportunities in the digital and green economies, alongside talent development for the future.   “Youth voices are essential in shaping a sustainable future. Torch Two of PETRONAS’ 50th Anniversary Twin Torches continued its Malaysian tour in Pulau Pinang, its arrival energised by 300 eager students and 30 teachers from 16 schools in Nibong Tebal during the Discover PETRONAS @Schools programme, held at the main hall of Universiti Sains Malaysia to engage in STEM and TVET related activities.   Meanwhile, Torch One's arrival in London was a celebration and a meaningful tribute to PETCO Trading (UK) Ltd's 16-year journey in the United Kingdom, underscoring its vital role as our trading and marketing arm in expanding our market coverage globally in the West of Suez, Europe, the Mediterranean and the Americas.   The “Journey of the Twin Torches”, which began in April this year, symbolises inspiration and empowerment, and pays tribute to people and places integral to our incredible journey, in conjunction with our 50th Anniversary.   #PETRONAS #PassionateAboutProgress #PETRONAS50 #SirihPulangKeGagang

Torch One of PETRONAS’ 50th Anniversary Twin Torches continued its journey abroad with stops in Dubai and Italy. The celebration in Dubai paid tribute to PETRONAS’ remarkable journey in the UAE which began in 1993, bringing together staff from various entities across the country — including PETRONAS Lubricants International – Middle East (PLAL), PETRONAS Carigali Iraq Holding B.V. (PCHIBV), and PETRONAS Management Services DMCC (PMSD) — for an event hosted by PETCO Trading DMCC. In Italy, the celebration took place in Turin, home of PETRONAS Lubricants International’s Global Research & Technology Centre. The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team, including Khairul Idham Pawi, Tarran Mackenzie, Kaito Toba, and local students, came together to mark five decades excellence in innovation. Meanwhile, Torch Two continued the celebration back home, stopping at Tanjong Karang in Selangor, where Yayasan PETRONAS launched its Program Duta Guru (PDG) STEM Hub at Pusat Kegiatan Guru, which aims to provide teaching aids and training programmes to help teachers in the delivery of an effective STEM curriculum.
