The rooms are a bit small for this class of hotel and so is the bathroom! The service and staff are top. The location is perfect and the beach too. Restaurant Ocean Blue has excellent cuisine and is very well positioned next to the beach!

Salalah hardly has new resorts, so it was difficult to choose. Guests are mostly 55+ from German, Polish and Czech nationality. Best pick is probably the neighbouring Anantara Al Baleed, but price is double. Although when you pay € 222 per night for a simple very dated old room including breakfast it should be compensated with excellent and personal service. Compared to what you get for this in Abu Dhabi it is a pity. They claim to be a 5 star property, but this is the worst 5* hotel we ever stayed in.
Pros
+ Complimentary airport Shuttle with friendly driver.
+ Early arrival but room was ready in half an hour without any charge.
+ Beachfront Location.
+ Ocean Beach House with restaurants and a roof terrace with amazing sun set view; this is probably their best asset.
Cons
- Old building, lobby, furniture, rooms, beds & mattresses, dated bathrooms with lots of wear and tear (showering in a bath with shower curtain is not from this century) and ugliest ‘pool deck’ ever.
- We were supposed to be informed when the room was ready, but the front desk forgot us.
- No assistance with bringing suitcases to the room.
- Staff in general (except serving staff in OBH) is not very friendly, welcoming and trained. There is lack of management; the GM was never on the floor to see what’s going on. Even the FO manager looks like he doesn’t like his job and the property.
- Bathroom light was out of order (all 3!) and when we ask to repair this, again someone looked very agitated we even asked.
- [ ] Understaffed; Long cues in front of the beach bar as there was only 1 bar tender.
- [ ] Beach towels very difficult to find. I had to ask to 3 different staff members and they only pointed me into the direction pfff.
- [ ] No staff and service at the beach.
- [ ] Dust in rooms, bathroom bin not emptied.
- [ ] Choice for breakfast is very limited, no fresh juices, lots of things on the buffet are not being refilled after 09.45. Breakfast ends at 10.30.
- [ ] The beach and ocean itself is nice, but there should be daily cleaning from the cigarette butts, plastic lids and tiny branches.
- [ ] Most beach guests claim 2 sun loungers per person.
- [ ] F&B is very very expensive.

واجهة الفندق الاستقبال كان سيء ناس مكشرة غير بشوشة وغير متعاونين معنا كسياح طلبنا غرفة مطلة على البحر حطو لنا غرفة بالقبو للفندق الغرفة غير نظيفة وقالوا انها مطلة ايضاً!! والموية صفراء مانقدر نتروش و اخلاق الفلبينية خصوصاًً تكرهك بالمكان وظفوا شباب عماني اخلاق يشرف المكان طلبنا نغير الغرفة قالت مااقدر ماقلتي لي من اول ! طلبنا نسوي خروج كلمت اللي يشيل الشنط لنا قلت لها بشيلهم قالت ليه ماقلتيلي طيب انا جالسه اقولك! والعمانية الموجودة متعاونة معها وماكانت بشوشة ابدا ولا تعرف لشغلها باقي النجوم اعطيتها لاصحاب مطعم الدلفين و دربات الرائعين رغم وجود شعره باكللهم في. يوم ما معجونة مع عجين الخبز بس الاخلاق تغفرلهم

ماعجبني الخدمات ولا اهتمامهم بالنزيل وتنظيف الغرفة من لحظة مغادرتي وللاسف عدت ولم يتم تنظيفها والغرفة لحظة وصولي للمرة الاولى لم تكن نظيفة (يوجد شعر على الارض ) فطورهم عادي لكن اكرر خدمتك كنزيل ما كأنها خمس نجوم شاطئهم جميل ومناسب للعائلات والاطفال

Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah is located just 25 minutes from Salalah airport and is located directly on a stretch of beautiful sandy beach and shoreline. Very good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Italian restaurant. Airport shuttle bus service.

Pros Location is great. Sky bar is brilliant, right on the sea front with the waves crashing near by, breakfast is good and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Cons Fire alarm went off 3 times on our first night and it is dangerously and painfully loud. I think the hotel should consider replacing the fire alarm system. The main pool was out of action for most of our stay. The hotel needs general maintenance as parts are looking very tired.

Of all the IHG Hotel chains, I was really looking forward to our 4d3n stay at Crowne Plaza Salalah Resort, and without a doubt, it didn't disappoint! First, the self-parking was conveniently located near the lobby. Second, we were given a newly renovated room on the 1st floor with a small private patio. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was spotless. The only downside for us was that the AC temperature wouldn’t go lower than 22°C. We were told this was some kind of rule in Salalah. Also, our TV welcome screen had a random guy's name on it, which made us laugh. Third, Ocean Blue Beach House. Having a meal with the most beautiful view was amazing! The dinner buffet was just okay, but the breakfast buffet was great! Fourth, The Villa Spa. The spa was clean and cozy. We had Novita and Rahma as our masseuses, and they were both excellent. The free use of the gym, sauna, and steam room was an added bonus. Fifth, the staff! Everyone was so warm and friendly, from the front desk to the F&B team and housekeeping. I think this was my first hotel stay where everyone we saw greeted us with a full smile. As a former IHG employee, I can say that this was true hospitality indeed! Looking forward to staying with you again!

SALALAH/OMAN CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL. A cozy, not entirely modern-designed (what we appreciated) and very well-kept, clean hotel, within easy reach to the town of Salalah. The hotel is located on a wonderful, long-stretched and almost white-powder sand beach. The ocean is warm and crystal clear, sometimes a bit wavy. We find it super special to experience this hotel amenities / facilities bordering the pristine nature and the most authentic and local surroundings. The food is excellent: oriental and international cuisine, in-house made desserts. All the staff are extremely and genuinely friendly, attentive to detail, and very helpful in all situations. We received particularly committed, lovely care from the restaurant team, and specifically from Ms ROWENA, Mr JOSEPH, and Mr ALI. In overall, the management is very competent to maintain the hotel / group standards. The CROWN PLAZA HOTEL is really recommended. And we will be happy to be back.

Everything was OK , friendly staff , good atmosphere, food . We really appreciate John from Ocean Blue Restaurant- he was everywhere with smiling to ready take care about us . Hotel was clear , silent in good location . Only one things was missing - due to wave we were not able to swim on the sea . That’s why we are ranking 4*.

We really enjoyed the vacation. Room was spacious and clean, staff polite, they really make an effort. Beach was amazing, smooth sand, clear water, not crowded at all, we loved everything about it. Beautiful beach restaurant ist great bonus. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was served there, variety of food was great, local dishes, international cuisine, all fresh and tasty, friendly staff, managers obviously do a great job. We were lucky to spend Valentine Day there, ladies got a rose, you could taste special Valentine cakes, certainly more than 20 variation of desserts, it was such a pleasant surprice. Highly recommended.
