Girls’ education is very important , not just for the immediate benefits it provides, but also for the significant long-term impact it has on their lives, their families, and their communities. Educating girls creates a ripple effect, with a triple dividend by benefiting them, their children, and future generations 🔄 This year, on the International Day of the Girl Child #IDOTD24, through our safe space discussions, we empowered girls to envision a brighter future and provided them with accurate, life-changing information about their health and well-being. A huge thank you to Mary Oyetunji from HACEY for making this impactful program possible for the girls in Oke Itunu Community. One step at a time, we are building a future where every girl can learn and grow to achieve their maximum potential Cc Idayat Hammed Halimat Omowumi Olaniyan #girlchild #girlchildeducation #girl #dayofthegirl #internationaldayofthegirlchild #adolescentes

AFAY Health Initiative we work hand-in-hand with communities to co-create impactful solutions. 🎥 Watch this insightful feedback from participants at our Menstrual Health Workshop at St Louis Grammar School, Ibadan One step at a time, we are demystifying Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and breaking the silence and stigma around menstrual health and hygiene while encouraging girls to speak up for themselves. Period poverty is more than a lack of sanitary products—it includes the absence of accurate information about menstrual health and we are bridging this gap by educating young girls and training them as changemakers #adolescenthealth #menstrualhealth #menstruation #periodpoverty #empoweringgirls #changemakers #leaders #sdgs #Girls

We held a menstrual health workshop for representatives from all classes and prefects of St Louis Grammar School training them as Adolescent Champions to advocate for Health in their school and within their classrooms AFAY Health Initiative A significant part of the workshop focused on training the girls on how to make re-usable pads which was facilitated by The Chosen Inspiraa Foundation for Youth and Community Development Many of the girls can now make re-usable pads and they will be going on to train their classmates. We discussed menstruation and menstrual health myths and the girls learned a lot about the sexual and reproductive health needs AFAY Health Initiative we prioritize health and wellbeing. We are grateful for the support we received from Christiana Omosigho Foundation for this session #adolescenthealth #menstrualhealth #menstruation #periodpoverty #reusablepads #sanitarypads

This year’s International Adolescent Health Week was about Thriving, Not Just Surviving—building adolescents’ resilience! 💫 We had an amazing time working with over 50 adolescents and teachers, teaching them about mental health and equipping them with healthy coping strategies to build resilience. The best part🤩? Watching them share kind words, hug each other, and express gratitude. It was truly heartwarming to see young people come together to support one another and grow stronger. 💚🤗 Together, we are shaping a healthier future and building a community where every adolescent can thrive. Swipe to see the beautiful moments we captured! 🎥 ✨ #adolescentes #resilience #mentalhealth #adolescenthealth #IAHW2024 #IAHW24 #IAHWeek2024
