As part of AREAi’s ongoing efforts to measure the impact of our FastTrack methodology to accelerate foundational learning outcomes, our team was at Maiduguri, Borno state to conduct a facilitators refresher training for 50 community-based facilitators. This training builds on our commitment to drive learner-centred teaching approaches for foundational skills development and the FastTrack program reinforces AREAi’s commitment to ensuring quality education for out-of-school children through evidence-based interventions. The evaluation process is being done using a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). The RCT is aimed at assessing the effectiveness of the FastTrack methodology in improving foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes for marginalized learners. The community-based facilitators were engaged in an intensive refresher training facilitated by our Senior Policy and Impact Evaluation Manager, Sewuese Bertha Agbendeh, Programs Manager, Maureen London, and Programs Associate, DANIEL OGUNTONA. The refresher training covered a brief overview of FastTrack and the research, FastTrack learning activities as well as conducting progressional assessments and attendance monitoring. Leading this effort is Professor Sharon Wolf from the University of Pennsylvania and Associate Professor, Kaja Jasinka from the University of Toronto. We express our gratitude to our local implementation partner, the Intercommunity for African Development Initiative (IADI) for their professional support throughout the process. #AREAi #AREAi4Africa #LearningWithoutBarriers #FoundationalLearning #FoundationalSkills #IDPCamps #EmpoweringLives #LiteracyForEveryChild #Literacy #Numeracy #EdTech #RCT #AcceleratedLearning
