Blaze Health Foundation and @behaviorsolutionsinc today organized a workshop for teachers on mental health, emphasizing the vital role educators play in supporting students' well-being. Many children struggle with mental health issues that originate from home, and it's essential for schools to be equipped to provide a nurturing environment. By working together, we can create a more supportive and inclusive space for students to thrive. Teachers, let's join forces to make a positive impact on the mental health of our future generations! Ofcos I am a proud volunteer 🥰 #blazehealthfoundation #mentalhealth #behaviorawareness #lagosstate #coachcalisha

  • Our Mental Health Workshop for Teachers Was a Success! 🎉 What an incredible day it was! We had the privilege of hosting teachers from 25 public secondary schools in Ikeja, Lagos, including vice principals, directors, counselors, and class teachers, who are deeply committed to the well-being of their students. Throughout the training, the teachers were actively engaged, asking insightful questions about real challenges they face with students. Our expert speakers and facilitators provided clarity, offering practical solutions to help them navigate these issues. One of the most impactful moments of the workshop was the group discussions and brainstorming sessions. Through the case scenario shared, the teachers developed strategies to handle different mental health challenges in their schools. Seeing their dedication to learning and improving student support was truly inspiring. This workshop was just the beginning, our goal is to create general awareness among teachers while we continue school-by-school training to equip educators and students with the tools they need for better mental health support. A huge thank you to our partner, Behavior Solutions Inc., for their partnership and support in making this workshop a reality. Together, we are creating a future where schools are safe spaces for every child’s mental well-being. Empowering Educators in Lagos, Transforming Minds! 🏫🧠 It was an honor to be part of Blaze Health Foundation's mental health workshop for teachers on ‘The Role of Educators in Redefining Mental and Behavioral Health in Schools.’ I had the privilege of leading one of the group discussions, where we explored real-life case scenarios, addressed physical and emotional distress, discussed the importance of building supportive networks for students, and shared policy recommendations to protect them from all forms of abuse, both at home and in school. Educators are more than just teachers; they are guardians of young minds. When we equip them with the right knowledge and tools, we create safer, healthier, and more supportive learning environments for every child. 💡💙 📸: Oyetola Olayemi David #MentalHealthMatters #SafeSchools #EmpoweredEducators #BlazeHealthFoundation #TeachersAsChangemakers

Happy new month everyone ... So I decided to hold on to this until the first of March cause a beautiful milestone like this should be shared at the beginning of a beautiful month 🤗. On the 27th of February Blaze Health Foundation In partnership with BSI hosted one of the first Mental Health Workshop For Teachers at NUT pavilion in Lagos, Nigeria .. In this new time where students that are still in secondary school are already showing signs of depression along side different mental struggles .. and we're getting suicide reports here and there, the importance of these workshop can't be over emphasized After securing approval from the Lagos state government we were able to successfully host a memorable event where teachers were mentally equipped on how to notice early signs of mental struggle amidst their students .. I will always be glad to be a part of a system that is making a change in our Nation .. I'm really proud of the history we've made as a team and I'm genuinely glad I was able to Capture all these beautiful memories from the event .. I look forward to doing more together with this beautiful team .. if you'd love to be a volunteer or sponsor please DM Blessing Nse Edet Have a productive month everyone Pictures by: Oyetola Olayemi #lagosphotographer #documentaryphotography #NGO #lifestyle #mentalhealth #WHO #unicef

  • "The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled." – Plutarch The role of educators in a changing educational environment goes beyond academics. In order to develop well-rounded students, mental and behavioral health in the educational system is paramount. One of our key activities at BHF is engaging with schools to train educators and explore the crucial role they play in recognizing, addressing, and promoting students' mental health. Watch the video below from our last workshop at Omole Junior Grammar School, Ikeja, Lagos to see some of the feedbacks we have had in the past. This week, we're excited to bring this important conversation to an even broader audience! On Thursday, 27th of February, at Alausa, Ikeja (NUT Pavilion), teachers from 25 public schools will be joining us for a one-day training session where we will dive deeper into how educators must nurture both emotional and intellectual growth. We will cover everything from recognizing early warning signs to creating supportive learning environments. Through this workshop, we are building a holistic approach to education, where mental health is prioritized rather than treated as an afterthought. #Blazehealthfoundation #EducatorsWorkshop #MentalHealthAwareness
