Implants are a hormonal, long-acting reversible contraceptive inserted in the upper arm of a woman. They are a safe and highly effective(99%) family planning method, that can last up to 5 years. Why Choose Implants? Convenient and Low Maintenance: No daily routines or frequent doctor visits after insertion. Discrete: They are not easily noticeable. Non-Regimented: Once inserted, you’re protected without any further action. Menstrual Benefits: Implants can help reduce heavy or painful periods. Things to Note Some users may experience side effects such as headaches, acne, or irregular menstruation. These side effects are usually temporary, but it’s essential to consult with a healthcare provider to determine if implants are the right choice for you. DKT International has received funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for a transformative initiative in Nigeria: “Supply Chain Strengthening and Implementation” Read the press release here 👉 https://lnkd.in/exiP-MDw This ambitious program aims to ensure the wide availability of high-quality, affordable contraceptive products by enhancing supply chains and strengthening the capacity of health systems, all while collaborating with local and international partners. By boosting awareness and demand for contraceptive options, we’re empowering women and girls with greater choices in methods and channels. Through the next four years, DKT plans to procure and distribute over 2,500,000 injectables, 300,000 implants, and 330,000 IUDs to a network of 4,189 private clinics and 18,811 drug shops and community pharmacies in the priority geographies to support the private sector. The initiative will generate over 2.8 million CYPs (Couple-Years of Protection) at an efficient cost of $2.83 per CYP and cater to private sector outlets, offering women and girls more choices in method and channel preference. DKT continues to drive innovation and access to contraceptive services for a healthier, more equitable future.
