In a small village, a young woman named Amina stood up against the silence that surrounded gender-based violence in her community. Amina had witnessed too many of her friends and neighbors suffer in silence, afraid to speak out, unaware of where to seek help. Determined to make a change, Amina partnered with local media outlets, enlisted the support of influencers, and collaborated with an NGO dedicated to addressing violence against women. Together, they launched an awareness campaign that reached every corner of the village. Through radio programs, social media posts, and community events, they educated people about the signs of abuse, legal rights, and resources available to survivors. The campaign brought light to the darkness. Women started speaking out, survivors found hope, and the community began to understand the importance of standing together against violence. On this Day 10 of the 16 Days of Activism, we amplify the message Amina worked so hard to share: Awareness saves lives.
