The NBS announces the release of the Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey. The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey (CESPS) provides an in-depth understanding into the situation of crime in Nigeria. Some Findings from the Survey: Nationally, an estimated 51,887,032 crime incidences were experienced by households. The North-West (14,402,254) reported the highest incidences, followed by the North-Central (8,771,400), while the South-East (6,176,031) reported the least. Yesterday marked a significant milestone for us at NBS Nigeria, as we became the first National Statistical Office to successfully conduct three consecutive Corruption Survey rounds. This third round was conducted and launched in collaboration with partners at UNODC Nigeria and MacArthur Foundation as well as other stakeholders. Through these surveys, Nigeria leads in establishing international best practice in the periodic and scientific assessment of anti-corruption efforts, reinforcing the importance of evidence based strategies in the journey towards a corruption free society.
