About us
Nutritionwitafrica.org is an NGO focused on improving nutrition and promoting healthy living in Africa. We strive to address Africa's complex issues related to nutrition and health by combining knowledge, innovation, and practical solutions. Our mission is to empower African individuals and communities to make informed decisions about their diets and lifestyles by promoting and improving nutrition education, awareness, and access to healthy food choices. Through research, assessments, and collaboration with local communities, governments, and organizations, we develop and implement sustainable and culturally appropriate nutrition interventions that address identified gaps in nutrition education and access to healthy foods. Our vision is to see a future where every individual in Africa has access to nutritious food, and healthy living is a priority for all. We aim to achieve this by providing education, resources, and support to individuals and communities and training and providing resources to health workers, educators, and other stakeholders to strengthen nutrition education and counseling.

We🌍 Nutrition Wit Africa Celebrates World Food Day with Meaningful Impact! 🌱 This World Food Day, we at Nutrition Wit Africa proudly partnered with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (FCT chapter) to make a difference in the lives of about 150 pregnant women and lactating mothers at the Kuchingoro Primary Health Center. In alignment with the theme of World Food Day by the FAO, Right to food for a Better Life and a Better Future, our outreach focused on empowering these mothers through nutrition education and support. We provided essential food donations, understanding that a mother’s nutrition is crucial for the health of her unborn child as well as her nursing During our visit, we conducted: 📍 Nutrition Education and Counseling: We shared vital information on maternal nutrition and its impact on child health, ensuring mothers felt equipped to make informed dietary choices. 📍 Local Food Demonstrations: We showcased the nutritional benefits of local foods, encouraging mothers to incorporate diverse and healthy options into their diets. 📍 Emphasis on Exclusive Breastfeeding: The significance of exclusive breastfeeding was highlighted, as we reinforced its importance for the health and development of infants. 📍 Homegrown Vegetable Gardening: In light of the current economic challenges, we promoted homegrown vegetable gardening, providing practical tips on how mothers can grow their own nutritious foods. We also took the initiative to empower the local community leader with knowledge gained during our sessions, ensuring that the information shared continues to resonate within the community. The gratitude expressed by the mothers and community leaders reinforced our commitment to our mission: to empower individuals and communities in Africa to make informed decisions about their diets and lifestyles. Together, we strive to address Africa’s complex issues related to nutrition and health, moving closer to achieving SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. We appreciate our Nutrition Wit Africans Olayinka Ofi and Folakemi Ishola for their service in volunteering during the outreach and representing Nutrition Wit Africa Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative! Together, we can create a future where every individual has the knowledge and resources to lead a healthy life. #NutritionWitAfrica #WorldFoodDay #CommunityImpact #NutritionEducation #SDGGoals #HealthyLiving
