Search for Common Ground is an international peacebuilding organisation that works to end violent conflict in Nigeria
About us
SEARCH FOR COMMON GROUND is the largest dedicated peacebuilding organization. Since 1982, we have worked to end violent conflict and to build healthy, safe, and just societies all over the world. Currently, we work in 31 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. OUR MISSION is to transform the way the world deals with conflict, away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. WE BELIEVE that conflict is inevitable but violence is not. Conflict is a natural result of human diversity. When we deal with conflict adversarially, it generates polarization and violence. When we collaborate, conflict catalyzes positive change. OUR VISION is a world where cooperation is the norm—where differences stimulate social progress, rather than precipitate violence.

We are excited to share that the screening of our film "Bridging the Abyss" this week in Abuja was a resounding success. This feature-length film explores the critical need to bridge the religious divide in Nigeria, highlighting the high stakes for marginalized communities in their fight for freedom of religion or belief. We are grateful for a well-attended hybrid event, with participants joining both in-person and online. A special thank you to the Ambassador of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Nigeria and other key stakeholders who were present and demonstrated their commitment to promoting freedom of religion or belief in Nigeria. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this important screening and dialogue! #BridgingTheAbyss #FoRB #SFCGNigeria
