Celebrating and empowering young girls and women in technology across Africa.
About us
She Code Africa is a registered non-profit organisation empowering girls and women across Africa with technical and soft skills needed to match or scale their careers in STEM With a mission to bring in more girls and women in Africa into technology through our offline hands-on-training and events focused on all aspects of technology while also giving a platform and voice to existing members helping them grow technically. We also provide a friendly inclusive virtual community and learning place for the girls and women to inspire, learn and educate one another on the strengths of being a woman in the various fields in technology. Our offline events vary from a single day to a two-day event or longer bootcamps, dependent on the learning track which cut across all platforms; Software development (web and mobile), DevOps, Cybersecurity, Program and product management, User Experience design, Data science, Machine learning and across all languages ;Javascript, Python, PHP, Ruby etc. We engage the girls and women in classes matched up to their skill i.e Beginner, Intermediate or Expert and pair them with well experienced facilitators in the field who also act as volunteers for the community. Amidst all, we run with simple values which include: - Teamwork, Community, Technical growth, Leadership and visibility.

Today, we join our voices with women who have been victims of violence. As an organisation that stands for the growth and empowerment of women, we recognise every woman out there who has been a victim of violence and encourage you to keep moving forward. Let's not forget that there are no excuses for violence. You deserve a life free from harm, where you can thrive and contribute positively to the world around you. Be a pillar of support to a woman in need as your encouragement could make all the difference. ❤️ Every 11 minutes, a woman is killed. #NoExcuse. Unite to End Violence against Women. #Shecodeafrica #Noexcuse

We had a brief interview with the smart Queens at Aunty Ayo School International. 👸 We wanted to hear some of their opinions regarding STEM before we delved into the program proper.
