NEWS NOW IN THE NIGERIAN OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), a subsidiary of Shell plc, has made a final investment decision (FID) on the Bonga North deep-water project off Nigeria’s coast. The project will connect to the existing Bonga Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, where Shell holds a 55% stake. Bonga North includes drilling 16 wells (8 production and 8 water injection), modifying the Bonga FPSO, and installing new subsea hardware. It is expected to sustain production at Bonga, with over 300 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent and peak production of 110,000 barrels per day. NEWS NOW IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY SEPLAT ENERGY FINALISES $800 MILLION ExxonMobil ASSET ACQUISITION Seplat Energy Plc has finalized its acquisition of ExxonMobil's Nigerian onshore oil and gas assets for $800 million, reduced from the initial $1.28 billion. Approved by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission and the UK Financial Conduct Authority, the deal is set to close on December 12, 2024. This acquisition doubles Seplat’s crude oil production to approximately 120,000 barrels per day, boosts its reserves by 86%, and raises pro-forma revenues by 245% to $1.456 billion. The transaction adds equity in 11 blocks, 48 oil and gas fields, and new processing/export facilities, solidifying Seplat’s position as Nigeria's leading independent energy firm.
