GENESIS OF VERIFICARE Early 2019, I and my brother was working on an AgriCommerce project called CropFair. A platform that would connect farmers directly to industrial consumers, at the same time we were concerned about fraudsters abusing this platform. We decided to integrate KYB & KYC by building a digital identity platform that would compliment CropFair. Year 2020 welcomed the world in a manner that would never be forgotten, introducing person to person transmission disease called COVID-19. Early 2020, nationwide lockdown was announced in Nigeria causing Nigerians to suffer because we were restricted from going to our places of work. Though, Nigerian Government tried to extend some kind of relief to her citizens as some countries did but due to lack of well structured channel to connect and interact directly with her citizens, all efforts made by Nigerian Government failed pre-maturely. And remember that before COVID-19, Nigeria Government was tackling banditry in the northern Nigeria. Bandit activities rained havoc on the people, and their properties resulting to unstable social-economic activities in the northern region of Nigeria. Insecurity in the Northern Nigeria has made Kano (northern economic hub) annual trade reduced drastically, traders from neighboring countries stopped crossing the border to trade because of insecurity. Businesses started leaving northern States to South Western States for stability. Focusing on the Agricultural sector, bandit were attacking and chasing farmers away from the farm which was gradually hampering food supply. In the year 2021, we dropped CropFair project (you can’t give what you don’t have) and focused on Verificare (formerly Verus) because we projected food insecurity in Nigeria which is now happening. Please understand me, I’m not inferring that Verificare would totally eliminate Nigeria’s problem but at least to some extent. Though we are presenting Verificare as a platform that connect genuine entities to verified potential clients. But the truth is Verificare is beyond that, Verificare is a passive reconnaissance tool equipped with customized Intelligence Platform Management Interface (for parastatals) for which can be use to solve problems stated earlier, If harnessed properly and fully. As we all know that reconnaissance is very important for any entity to understand her assets for effective management. Verificare is a legacy not a provisional project.
