On the day of The World’s 50 Best Hotels award ceremony, where the top hotels across the globe will be ranked and the world’s best hotel announced, we're joining the celebration with a little inspiration of our own. We've teamed up with Nolie on a research project aimed at creating a smarter hotel experience. Who knows, maybe with our help, you'll snag a spot in next year’s top 50! Good luck to all the nominees – we can't wait to see who takes home this year’s top honors!

It's Sunday morning, there's a hot breakfast waiting for you, and your 'Banana Pancakes' playlist is the last ingredient for a perfect morning. Ooh, the app has a new interface—thrilling! And then the confusion starts: where have the playlists gone? Why isn't sound coming from my sound system? What. Is. Happening? Your eggs have gone cold, 'Banana Pancakes' lies abandoned, and your mood is gone. This isn't about good or bad UI design but about considering the wider user experience once an app update is released. Was Saturday evening the right time to release an update? Would a short onboarding experience have been helpful in pointing out what changed? We began noticing missed opportunities when incredible hardware is paired with a digital experience that misses the mark. Yes, it's important to listen to customers and look at the data, but it's equally important to find the gaps between what they say and what they do, even in those small, routine moments. Those small, routine moments that people don't talk about are what we obsess over at 10Nineteen. So, if you're looking for a partner to help, let us introduce ourselves!

Great insights (and tips!) from our co-founder, Rian Verhagen, on the value of personal connections and how to use tech to make them even more meaningful. ✨
I believe the companies that will thrive are those that use tech to enhance, not replace, personal connections with their customers. 💡 Coolblue already gets a lot of praise for being one of the most successful customer-experience-driven brands in the Netherlands, but here's another example. After moving houses and changing over our utilities contract, we received a handwritten card from Nina, our Coolblue energy rep, congratulating us on the new house. It might be me, but these are the little things that keep me loyal to Coolblue, even in situations when they're not the cheapest option. It also shows how much they see value in the human touch, especially in a time when many companies see new technology as a replacement for personal interactions. Here's where I, as a tech person, see opportunities: - Use tech to minimize the time staff spend on repetitive and administrative tasks, freeing them up for meaningful interactions with customers. - Use tech to provide self-service options for customers where it makes sense, focusing on human-centric design instead of tech-centric quick fixes. - Use tech to offer more personalization, making interactions and offers smarter and tailored to each client. It's all about minimizing frustrations and maximizing the moments when you exceed expectations. What customer experiences have left a lasting impression on you?

Our collaboration with Soaptimist was such a fun reminder of why we love working so closely with client teams to push creativity. We can't wait to show you the results!
I recently wrapped up a design project with the wonderful humans at Soaptimist, and the delivery that arrived was a delightful surprise! The beautifully packaged shampoo and soap bars not only survived the journey from Utrecht to Toronto, they came with an incredibly thoughtful note and a book you know I'll be starting today. What a way to end the week! 🌟

Ever eagerly signed up for a new product or service only to be disappointed by the overall experience? That’s the difference between traditional product design and today’s user-centric approach. Good digital design is more than just aesthetics; it’s about creating an intuitive, user-friendly experience that engages and delights. "A well-executed digital design not only meets but anticipates the needs of users, providing seamless interactions and making technology feel almost invisible," says Michelle Tan, Head of Strategy. Your digital experience is often the first interaction users have with your product—make it count. #DigitalDesign #UserExperience #ProductSuccess
