📻 The Morning Show of 2030 brings the Future of Radio! Radio is evolving. With platforms like Twitch and YouTube making radio more visual, the way we experience audio content is changing. That’s why NPO Campus Radio is dedicating this week (Feb 17-21) to experimenting with the future of radio—testing new formats, AI sidekicks, interactive listener engagement, and one of the most exciting innovations (for us): holographic interviews! Together with NPO Campus, we cloned 3FM DJ Wijnand Speelman using Volumetric Capture. This allowed him to be in two places at once—hosting his morning show on 3FM while simultaneously appearing as a hologram at NPO Campus Radio, where Andres Odijk interviewed his digital double. Could this be the future of guest appearances on radio shows? With more shows incorporating video streams, holographic interviews will change how we bring remote guests into the studio—creating a more immersive and engaging experience for both hosts and audiences. Bringing furniture to life with Volumetric Video! Together with Dutch Rose Media we developed a tailored VR project for de Esdoorn, a leading furniture manufacturer specializing in furniture for daycare centers and primary schools. Visitors to their stand at the KindVak trade fair were able to experience their entire collection in their intended context, within just a few square meters. Thanks to the volumetric videos we recorded for them — including an adorable baby — the human side of the products became tangible in a virtual world. Another standout feature: all furniture could be switched to a different base material in VR with a single click, allowing visitors to freely experiment with the available styles. With this project, we transformed a standard trade fair booth into an innovative and interactive experience. Visitor feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Using VR brought not only the furniture but also De Esdoorn's story to life. HYMNE Announces Artists Exploring the Future of Concerts! 4DR Studios, volumetric capture studio, Effenaar, and CORTEX2 proudly revealed the artists participating in the HYMNE project. Over the next five months, these talented performers will push the boundaries of hybrid technology to redefine live music: 🎤 Anneke van Giersbergen 🎶 WITT 🎵 CHARLOT 🎸 Dylan van Dael ✨ Guided by guitar legend Steve Vai, the artists will develop HYbrid Music and New Experiences. After try-outs in March 2025 at Effenaar, the full premiere will debut in May. Why it matters: HYMNE combines live music with advanced volumetric capture and XR technology to create interactive hybrid concerts. Whether in person or online, fans can connect with their favorite artists in entirely new ways. Het samenwerkingsverband met 4DR Studios, volumetric capture studio begint steeds meer vorm te krijgen. Nu is de applicatie die gemaakt is voor #stimulanz verder door ontwikkeld. Met steun van het Lectoraat Persoonsgerichtheid in een ouder wordende samenleving en van 4DR Studios, volumetric capture studio is versie 3.0 van de volumetrische patiënt gemaakt. De docent bepaalt wat de cursist ziet via de bril. Door op de bijgeleverde tablet een keuze te maken. Er wordt niet gewerkt met controllers maar je hebt de materialen echt in je handen, zodat je echt het gevoel hebt dat je naast een patiënt staat. We gaan met deze levensechte versie experimenteren in het simulatieonderwijs. Dit is volgens mij de ultieme versie van "bringing soul to digital" Je staat echt naast een patiënt. Dit is relatief gemakkelijk uit te breiden met verschillende attributen die toegevoegd worden. En ook met levensechte casuïstiek. Daar kan wat mij betreft geen high-fidelity pop tegenop.
