In summary, Acting4 Water intends to address the following primary needs: 1. Raising awareness on water scarcity, a less known, although significant environmental problem. 2. Higher Education-curricula update on water scarcity: the problem and its solutions as a step towards offering a more inclusive education on climate change and its side-effects. 3. Civic engagement in climate change issues, particularly water scarcity. 4. The development of interdisciplinary HE curricula for dealing with complex future problems. 5. Knowledge exchange among Higher Education institutions.   • 🌊🔋 Direct Seawater Electrolysis (DSWE): A Game-Changer for Green Hydrogen Production Direct Seawater Electrolysis (DSWE) is emerging as a transformative technology for producing hydrogen directly from seawater, bypassing the need for costly desalination processes. This approach addresses the increasing demand for sustainable hydrogen production by leveraging an abundant resource—seawater. 🔑 Challenges: DSWE technology faces critical challenges: 1️⃣ Electrode durability, given the corrosive effects of chloride and scaling from seawater. 2️⃣ Chlorine generation, which presents safety and environmental concerns. 3️⃣ Energy efficiency, as the process must be optimized to compete with traditional methods. 💡 Innovative Solution: Wetsus has developed and patented a novel DSWE technology featuring an in-situ descaling process.
